Aha my own advice doesn't work, my game keeps crashing too. Is there a quicker way to fix the game without uninstalling/installing again? So annoying

I don't know, do we have to install all the modding way file? (1.7.1, ... 1.7.9)

Are you sure? Using torrent is illegal if you download illegal content (pirated games, pirated movies) , but if use it for legal download (a linux distro, this file,other legal files) there is not to worry.

I had already done everything as you explained in the README....

Installed MW 1.7.1 right through to MW 1.7.9

But when I add you 4.db is causes the crash...

This was off a completely fresh install of FIFA13 by the way, as I wanted to make sure nothing was conflicting...

Ive tried it as you said.......still freeze on startup and crash!

I then tried substituting your other 4.db over the other one then running the installer again (works ok) then doing the Selector thing.....still same crash on startup...

If I install the 1.7.9 then do the installer that works ok and I can play the game....but copying your 4.db and then attempting to do MWinstaller again doesnt work as it asks for the list.txt again (which dissapears after the initial install of 1.7.9)....

I then recopied the list.txt to see if it would install ok....it did....but then still the same CRASH...!!!

ARRRRRGGGHHH!!!! dont know what it is...

If you install 1.7.9 and run the installer that works.
Recreate that condition, so you have the game that run fine.
Backup original 4.db of moddingway (rename as you want)
Then copy my 4.db in \data\db\moddingway\
Run MWSelector, select original database, close, reopen the selector and select 4.0 database.
Don't execute the mwinstaller, simply run the game. That work.

Update: your original upload of Moddingway 1.79 works fine, still the boots issue, but it doesn't crash like the other one. I think the boot issue is down to the actual EA Update for Database 4.0, it needs to be at the highest one for that or something

boots issue is because the game doesn't read the moddingway lua that have the boots assignments. (Idea for fixing is to regenerate , but i fear that can lead to crashes)
