Sunderland vs. Liverpool (R)

Couple of points really.

Liverpool have been playing very, very poor of late and are relying on something that doesn't seem to be happening.

Some players have a reputation as dirty players, but I do feel that Arsenal are sometimes a dirty team, you only need to look at their actions towards the end of the Man Utd-Arsenal game for an example of it. It reminded me of how Deportivo players reacted when getting knocked out of the Champions League last season.

Vieira is reckless sometimes, as Keane can be, and they then deservedly get booked.

Man Utd weren't in great form when they started their current run of wins, but with a few lucky breaks you can get wins which improves confidence and form, and now Man Utd are starting to show their true ability, which they were not just over a month ago.

I am not going to gloat at another team's poor form or misfortune, it's not my style. Even when they are my teams fiercest rivals.

You could say that Liverpool were beaten by Sunderland's passion, but in truth, Liverpool threw away three points.

They had much of the play but when they created chances - good chances - they missed them like schoolboys. Owen and Baros both couldn't score in a brothel and Diouf was always a waste of space. Biscan's selection was a shocker and Gerrard is way off form. Houllier's tactics was also questionable.

Back Four - Carragher - Henchoz - Bišcan - Traoré

While I agree that this isn't the best Liverpool defence, you have to say that it still beats Sunderland's of Wright, Bjorklund, Babb and McCartney. And the four were only playing against a team who hasn't scored for five matches and in desperate trouble. It's really no excuse.

Nah, Man Utd. Historically Liverpool are Man Utd's fiercest rivals, although Man City are close.

the fact is that they are NOT crap!! (ok.. I'm biased)
they had an excellent run at the start of the season and you can't deny that. The way they're playing now is crap though...
hope they can get back into the title race against Everton... (Everton always produced good matches against Liverpool.. even when they were fighting relegation.. Derbies are special occasions.. hope LFC will be up for it)

Our poor run off games has been a horrible coctail of of almost everything that can go wrong.

Poor selections by GH.
Crap passing.
Even Crapper shooting.
Crap Defending.

I was never a huge fan of GH, he destroyed our pass and move game, but he brought us consistent victories.

Now he doesnt even do that, each season his squad goes on a very poor run, worse then anything united or arsenal do, which crushes our title hopes.

He will never bring us the title, he should leave in the summer or owen and several other players(fringe players) should be sold and some real creative, world class players should be brought in.

Owen was a great goal scorer, but now he is very inconsistent, and has always been lacking in the creative department.

you cant say that about RVN and Henry.

Owen has also hurt us too much as we fallback on the cowardly long ball to owen time and time again. If he wasnt there we wouldnt do it asmuch.

He also F9&&*&*(& us in Leverkusen and many other big games.

If someone offered 30 million I would snatch it off them especially as GH pissed away 20 million on shyte this summer.

Diouf....african footballer of the year?

My balls we should have kept anelka, he rallied our season last january, who will do it this time?

i agree with most people that GH tactics and player purchases are a bit perplexing ... i dont know why we would let litmanen go and bring in diouf .. admittedly he is still young and a bit raw but litmanen was awesome and is playing well for ajax ! we need to give all our player sa kick up the arse and remind them that this is the premiership ... players like carragher, owen, stevie G and Murph have ot take some leader ship and get the younger players through ... Houllier needs to start using heskey up front and play smicer wide left .. until we can buy some one better ... Wheres ritchie partridge ? oh thats right hes scoring goals for coventry ?!! why dont we get him back off loan and give him a run in the 1st team !!

He forgot to say he (Dudek) is still at Liverpool, but is now the second call goalkeeper (in other words, he is on Special teams, just kidding).

Dudek is the #2 goalkeeper for LPool, he sits on the bench until Houllier gets sense.

Which means he'll probably play on the left wing replacing Heskey in the 69th minute of their next match (that was a joke).

I'd replace Dudek with Heskey on the left wing, but only if Dudek was tired and GH/Thompson didn't want to play that position

Remember that Houllier is a mastermind manager so he probably realises that Jerzy is short of fitness so he can only play 20 minutes or so.

I read Houllier said that Heskey may get his chance in goal (if Kirkland messes up) because he has noticed that attacks tend to stop when he gets the ball.

Whatever Houllier did re: Dudek he was going to loose in the eyes of the press and this very Liverpool-loving forum. If he stuck with Dudek he would be risking completely shattering his confidence if he made another mistake and he'd also be insulting Chris Kirkland because he wouldn't get a chance. If he plays Chris Kirkland he's dissing Dudek and not showing faith in him.

Therefore, I think I the ideal solution would have been, as antithesis (president of the LFC fan club) said - play Heskey in net. Sh!t, we should just get Neil Ruddock back and stick his fat arse in net - you wouldn't be able to see the goal.

sorry guys... too busy lately with work... outstation for almost one week now..

so we lost... and we played sh!t in the first half... and some freak incident inside the box cost us the match... anyway, just hope that we can bounce back soon.. the win in the league cup against aston villa would help a bit and nice to see that gerrald has play his sock off during the league cup match didn't see he play like that for a long long time...
