Just the very title of this post offends me. I hate the fact that I have to look at it everytime I come to the Forum. Thanks Assius....

I wrote in an earlier post that if a country has a extremely unproportional ethnic population, then it would be almost impossible for them to play with only players from their own nationality. Therefore a country like Uruguay who has many many players of spanish decent has a right to play them. However look at how many blacks the french national team has and compare that to the percentage of blacks living in france. If france had 50% of their population consisting of blacks, then I would say it is ok, however this is not the case. The Czech Republic may have half the population consisting of Germans, and that is why it is logical to play them. How many blacks are living in Holland, not that many(percentage) yet the national team has many black players. It makes no sense. THE ONLY REASON YOU GUYS DISAGREE WITH ME IS BECAUSE YOU ARE SO DESPARATE FOR YOUR COUNTRY TO WIN THAT YOU WILL DO ANYTHING EVEN IF IT MEANS USING PLAYERS WHO SHOULDN'T BE PLAYING. IT IS SAD BECAUSE YOU ARE TOO NAIVE TO SEE THAT INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL WILL DIE AS A RESULT OF THIS. WAKE UP.

will all fu*king yanks who think their country is good at any thing to do with football fu*k off.

u all piss me off,

everyone knows that if fifa was made by anyone but north americans (from either USA or canada) (i.e if it was made by european, afican, oceainian, asian or south american programmers) it would be a much better game.

just look at ISS which was made by japanese programmers and Sensible Soccer which was made by British programmers. Both are so much more playable than fifa, and if the programmers had had more money (NB-money is the only think americans have, they all lack any talent), then the graphics ect would have been much better.

The yanks cannot win any football match against decent opposition unless the get help from the ref.

for example: June 2000, Nike Cup, Ireland were 1-0 up against the US, but the US got a dubious decision which allowed them to score a goal that was blatently offside. They still couldn't beat us, but could only draw 1-1.

Your MLS is so sh*t, it has no relegation so any crap team could stay in it forever. It only attracts gerriatric players such as Matthaus and Stoichkov, and it has those stupid under-15 5-a-side style penalties (I hear that they might have just changed this).

Accept the facts, u. are useless at football, even though in typical american fashion u want to be the best in the world at it. (there are always adverts for UK based 'soccer coaches@ to work in the US, in magazines such as 442 and world soccer)

Don't any of u try and come up with that ****e about beating teams like germany ('coz we all germany is no good any more)

To tell you the truth, I think the Yugoslavians prefer losing 6-1 to Holland then to Suriname.
I might have read wrong but i belive you wrote saying that 4 of the gols scored by Holland where from Suruname Players, either way Holland would of won 2-1.

So what about in future generations that if the black proportion compared to whites stays the same and then say for example, Desailly's grandson is an exceptional player, he still shouldnt be able to play for France because there arent enough blacks compared to whites in France???????

you're logic makes absoultely no sense and IT IS discrimination against that ethnic minority in that country as even if they are born and brought up in that country they are still not allowed to play for that country...

back to my earlier example, what is Desailly's grandson meant to do then???
not play international football at all??

btw. how did you develop these such stupid views on the world?
do you even know anything about football to start of with??

Ruben Sosa

El Jovato
I don't exacly know which seasons where with which club But in early 80's Sosa played for Danubio and was later sold to Zaragoza, during the 90's he played for AS Roma, I think Lazio and Inter befor being bought by Nacional (Uru) in 1998. He has become the favorite player for the crowd. In 1999 he was nearly transfered to the MLS but in the end they renew his contract. In short Ruben plays for el Club Nacional de Futbol. I also think he played for Uruguay in WC 94 Qualifiers and Copa America 1995

Assius:

Judging from you last post, I would have to assume that you are for quotas. That is, if a country is 12% black (like the U.S.), then its team should have 1 black in the starting 11. I guess this would also extend to the U.S. basketball and hockey teams. I guess then we have to send a basketball team to Sydney with 8 white guys, 1.5 black guys, 1.5 Hispanic guys, and one guy who is half Asian (1/8 chinese, 1/8 japanese, 1/8 filipino, 1/8 vietnamese), half native amercian.

You say that you are not concerned with race, only the preservation of international football. And yet all of your posts mention blacks. Should the Spanish national team have a guaranteed minimum of Catalonian and Basque players? Should Brazil have a quota on its native population? How about the decendants of the moors in Portugal? What about the relatives of the thousands Japanese soldiers and other men who raped Korean women in the 30's? Assius, this NOT the 18th Century. People move, immigrate, and intermarry. They also conquer, colonize, and oppress people of different races. What is your solution to the "disgrace" of Holland? Europe is changing-- if you are black and are born in France, go to French schools, live in France all of your life, and die in Paris, you are French, PERIOD. Color does not equal nationality as it once may have.

I think what disturbs many people about your posts is that your theories can be applied to other parts of life. Do you know how many times as a child I was told to "Go back to Africa." My response was, "if you can figure out what country my people came from, sure." We can't undo slavery and colonization-- what we can do is make the most of it-- if that means that there is one white guy on the U.S. Olympic basketball team and no blacks on the hockey team, so be it. Klivert and Bergkamp may have few things in common, maybe Klivert eats Surinamese food at home. But go to Amsterdam and you'll find plenty of white Dutch people wearing his shirt. If they say he's Dutch, who are you to disagree. What's next, a government policy that all black people in France with French passports can't go to school with the white kids because the blacks aren't French, they're African? We tried that-- its called segregation or apartheid. That is why people get offended by your posts. Having said that, I think this is an important discussion so if you want to continue it that is fine by me.

Ok. I'm going watch what I say here to say this in a neutral standpoint. I was born in America to Asian parents. I love my country, and have to admit that the US National Team is an improving squad. Though I think the MLS is a disgrace. They dont have the rules and regulations worldwide soccer leagues do. Though my favorite national team is still the US, my favorite club teams are in the England Primier League. It useed to be Leicester, and Manchester, now I like Arsenal, and Everton. Why Everton? One of my favorite players play there. And I respect those American players who go overseas to play in harder competition rather at home in the MLS. Yes the US were ranked 32nd out of 32 teams in France 98. But consider: that was two years ago, and since then, the US underwent many changes. I.E. managerial change, player changes. Former stars as in Lalas, Wynalda, Ramos, etc. are no longer with the team. The USA started Project 2010 which involves at least getting into the semifinals of the 2010 WC, better yet, the championship game. You have to admit that the USA are really pushing to become one of the premier teams in the world. And many youngsters here are taking up the game: in many school, including the ivy league ones (harvard, yale, stanford, princeton, etc.) there are more people playing soccer than american football. That's currently the case. And when FIFA organization decided the US would play host in 94 WC, the US became more interested in the game, and it meant that the US is becoming international soccer superiority, or at least aiming towards the goal. Though the US might not catch up with England, France, Italy, Brazil, etc., what it could do is make a big impact on the game. It defeated Brazil in the Gold Cup a couple years back. Thouhg Preki scored the lone goal, and he is Yugoslav, the USA is consisted of immigrants. It is the largest melting pot in the world. Every single US player in 98 came from immigrated parents like mine. Though I have no plans on playing professional soccer, I do enjoy playing the sport. If you say that the US government is arrogant, I wouldn't disagree, although I would say, please look on the brighter side of things. I've been to England, France, Spain, and is planning to go to Italy, and I love Europe. England and France are two of my favorite nations in the world. Though their economy might not be as strong as the US, they are great nations. Currently, I am looking at a map of the United Kingdom, trying to find a setting for a book I am composing. Even a novel from me must have a European setting to feel complete--to me at least. See I am not a racist, bigoted, sexist son of a b****. I have no tolerance for people who are. And listening to Assius, he does not sound like a racist, bigoted son of a b****. I don't understand why you people say he is. And if you insulted the US, you might contain a hint of racism in you. And for those who do not know what an Ivy League school is, it is the best colleges and universities in America, like Oxford of the UK.

it was an example. Both Harvard and Oxford are worldwide known schools, even if they're not on the same level. I've been to Oxford, it was nice there. I'm sure the educational level and demand at Oxford are a couple steps ahead of Harvard, and I appreciate that, since the English have long established their educational system, and us Americans have only been around for 200 plus years. You cannot compare these two nations. And if I insulted anyone, I truly apologize. It was never my intention to do such things. I was simply giving an example. Please don't insult me.
