rafa wins!!! what an awesome match. completely deserving victory. he was the better player today. federer made some absolutely critical mistakes, but nadal was defending like a madman. nobody can touch this guy when he's playing at the top of his game. I would love a rematch between these guys, wherever it may be. awesome awesome match.

I disagree there. The match was totally even. Federer better on net and serve, Rafa better on baseline. Maybe Federer could have gone to the net more often.

federer committed faults at horrendous times, and nadal's defense more than makes up for the fact that federer was better at net. the fact that he didn't go to it more often takes it out of the equation. mind you, rafa was not bad on net either. he put a couple of points away with authority. in my book, rafa was better. not by much. but better nontheless. if federer eliminates some dumb mistakes and does not let nadal take control (federer was always chasing) the match might turn out different. besided the 4-2 lead federer held in one of the sets, he was never in control. also, nadal is a beast. he was running just as hard at the end of match as he was in the beginning.

Nadal won't maintain the level. He's overpushing his fully loaded potential, and in mid-term, we will crumble.

Still, yeah, the guy is a f****** beast. His arm equals both of my legs.

Great match, wanted to Federer to win but Nadal is playing awesome tennis. At least Federer went down fighting rather than losing in straight sets which he was close to doing.

Watched the first 3 sets and got bored when it went to a 4th. Tuned in with it 2-2 and in a rain delay in the 5th. I couldn't believe he had come back. I just couldn't bare to watch the 5th and watch him him pull off that comeback....took a big sigh of relief when Nadal closed it out.

Ana Ivanovic scrapes through her first round, at Flushing Meadows, in three sets. She doesn't deserve to reach the 4th round of the US Open.

After the game against Andreev, that's the old Fed Express we all now. Simply amazing how he destroyed Murray in the final. I'm glad he's back too!

Federer was playing great tennis in the defeat of Safin, i hope he goes and wins it and prove his critics wrong.

Another upset with Ivanovic losing to Kleybanova, maybe its just me but Kleybanova seems a little out of shape for a pro tennis player.

The sad thing about the current Australian Open is fight between Serbians and Bosnians after Delic - Djokovic game. I'm pissed off with Radwańska and hers lost game in the first round though.:(

^ Totally. Very sad for a gentleman match like tennis.

Anyway, Aus Open is looking great so far, even though Ivanovic is out (:o~~~~~~). The men's draw look really solid, and looks like some serious underdogs can overcome (Monfils, Gonzalez). But I think Federer will win this one. He looked really solid against Safin yesterday.

Great match between Dokic and Kleybanova, everybody loves a underdog story she's done great so far, looked really painful when she rolled over her ankle hopefully she recovers in time.

Looking forward to the match between Cibulkova and Dementieva should be a good one with both in good form. Not to mention its gonna be easy on the eye as well. :biggrinx:

I'm gonna stick my neck out and say Dementieva's gonna win the women's singles she's playing well and with so many of the top seeds gone its a great chance for her to finally win at a Grand Slam. Hopefully i don't jinx it.
