B&S didn't make the big time probably due to the fact they sound like Teenage Fanclub. Another band tipped for greatness, only to acheive a little success.

I went to see Arctic Monkeys on friday - part of the NME tour.
All the bands were quality - line up was

Mystery Jets
We are Scientists
Arctic Monkeys
Maximo Park

We are Scientists were the best, and the atmosphere of the crowd was great,
but AM really p!ssed me off, they come on stage with this air of superiority and then proceed in playing an awful set out of tune and out of time.
They didnt play any of their decent songs - thou they did the crowd pleasers : IBTYLGDF and Scummy but they missed out mardy bum and a certain romance was awful.
Most of the songs they played we out of time and the bassists was going way to fast on so many occasions. Turner made enough mistakes and he seemed to not really give a **** that he had.
Compounding the crapness was the crowd; a bunch of like mid-30 wasted skin heads. They only knew the lyrics to some of the songs like Dancing Shoes and Scummy but they sang them out of time.
I was expecting lots of moshing but the kind at this gig was crap there was such a push to the front and all the old men kept knocking the younger people over from the side. I still can't fell one of my ribs and someone elbowed me in the chin. Really change my perspective of AM and their followers - now their just a bunch of bandwagon-jumpers

Maximo park were way better than AM and they got the crowd going but in a good way. Mystery jets were slightly disappointing as the dad didn't do much but then again having your dad in your band - how cool is that!

Was that the gig when he complained about the stage being wet?

This is a bloody rock concert, not the ... 'Splish-Splash' Show

Banjo riffs have no place in this world, though.

I went to this gig:

although i dont remember A certain romance being "blistering", although when he stage dived it was pretty funny, except there was a mad rush to touch him...which hurt alot.

I 'spose NME are full of praise for AM because they think that they discovered them :nape: , all in all it was a good show, mainly made good by We are Scientists who were jokes - but i paid 35 quid for my ticket of Ebay, and i got mine cheap.

I conclude that AM are nothing compared to Milburn, who supported them at the Astoria, i went to go see them at the Barfly and it was mental. If anyone deserves to go big they do

Starting XI
I have been expanding my musical horizons of late (things like Sufjan Stevens and Bloc Party) and I picked up Arctic Monkeys today - it's reasonably good from the short listen I've given it, the opening track stands out as a corker, same with Riot Van. I'm looking forward to getting into the album a bit deeper tonight.
