And why do you Barca fanboys always have to bring Barcelona FC into every conversation? This was a discussion about Arsenal, but as usual you enter a thread and run your mouth off about your own club, like we would be interested anyway.

you brought us into the discussion, but whatever.. 11 goalkeepers was a comment i made about anytime we played an english team not the epl, learn to read dumb ass

if you read my post i defended wenger with stats, and once again finishing second instead of fourth doesn't make you a big club

you run your mouth like you are a big club, but you still have only 3 premiership titles and 5 fa cups to show... pfff small minded club without history

anyway end of this stupid discussion...

congrats on the comeback today arsenal mates(Y)

Arsenal have the easiest group of all the English teams and they come back from 2 down to beat Standard Liege, a newcomer in the competition. Congrats on the win. A shame you didn't lose, that would've made it far easier to laugh at you.

(H). Well thanks for not going into the discussion about the Barça v. Chels game.
We weren't anywhere near our 'best'...Mannone is our 3rd choice keeper and this was his CL debut...Almunia, Walcott, Denilson ,RVP,Nasri and Arshavin didn't play due to injuries and those first 5 mins. were pretty crazy:D.

Still Clichy was utter sh*t...second game in a row :(. Rosicky looked awesome, but sh*t in comparison to Vermaelen (excellent player, we will lose 5-0 the day he gets injured :().

Le Genius speaks

On Tuesday the Football Association charged Adebayor with violent conduct over the incident. By that time Wenger had seen the challenge again on video and he was far from happy.

“It looks very bad,” he said. “You ask 100 people, 99 will say it’s very bad and the 100th will be Mark Hughes.
(H) classic.

I find comments like that very ignorant mind you. I initially wanted to stay out of this but since you put the classic "no history" it really shows all of us what an arrogant lot some of you are. I admit we're not as a big club as we'd like to be but we're slowly getting there. Look the old saying goes, Rome wasn't build in a day.

If, I'm saying IF Arsenal, went on another 20 years without a trophy and went to mediocrity(like we did after the 50s and 70s), and suddenly were on resurgence in competing with for honours. Would the opposing fans(fans who didn't witness Arsenal at their best previously) then say they had no history? Because they're too fu<king ignorant to find out and learn about whatever club they want to slag off.

As far as I'm concerned, the only reason Barca fans like Arsenal because they play a similar brand of football, which complements Barca because they are currently the master of the craft. In short, they like whatever feeds they're egos. I remember Arnau trolling and coming up with the same no history comment last year, but he apologized, which I thought was a decent gesture.

^^^ fair enough mate, i shouldn't have entered the discussion anyway, but it was kind of dumb to say wenger has brought arsenal down to not be a big club..

i apologize for i don't alot of the history of english football, there fore i can't say you have no history, it was a dumb comment i agree and i apologize..

all i was getting at was that you guys(pede) don't have the right to say arsenal isn't a big club anymore, especially when they have won more than you...

anyway lets end it here, sorry for this arsenal fans;)

good match today, i like the bednter goal it was great piece of strength by diaby, penalty was a bit unlucky but it made for an exciting game, congrats(Y)

He's one to talk. If the roles were reversed, he would easily say, "I didn't see it.."

Even if you would have scored 8 of the 8 penalties you were denied something should have happened and we had qualified. God of football really exists! And he never wants defensive with 10 men in the box ugly football in the most beautiful football competition

Were was he when Greece won the Euro??

Arsenal were a top club when Wenger arrived. They aint now. That has to tell you something. Any other club would have sacked him by now, but he suits the Arsenal board because he doesn't ask for their money, and they like that a lot.

I don't really want to get into this sort of topic again, but Wenger has a job because he's taken this club and established them as one of Europe's elite for over a decade, not just because he doesn't spend loads of money. I know very, very well that we haven't won a trophy in 4 years, but we've been there or there abouts at times and we're consistently in the knock out stages of the CL. The trophies have dried up for Wenger recently, but I'd say, and many would agree, that we're still one of the top seven or eight clubs in Europe, we've got a state of the art stadium that we fill up regularly, and we manage our debt properly unlike many other clubs as good as us.

I find that a lot of Arsenal fans(I'm surrounded by them) don't like the knew stadium, they preferred Highbury for whatever reason.

EDIT:My m8 just gave me a clip that articulates his feelings about the Emirates.

Btw, the guy in the vid is John Lydon, aka Johnny Rotten(Sex Pistols frontman). A lifelong Gooner apparently.

Funny bit about the cannon on the emblem. In the video, its facing the wrong way. :D

So, are you 60, Zakov or just your mates?

I know that's not your mate in the vid, but why would someone not within 10 years of him in age share his feelings about the stadium? He doesn't even give reasons. But yeah, **** Arsenal either way.

Nah man. My m8s consist of people in all kinds of age group. My late dad was an Arsenal fan as well.
The video was just an example of how some of the Arsenal fans felt about leaving Highbury.

But most of the Gooners I know grew up going to Highbury. I even got the old 1992 Arsenal JVC jersey as a gift. wankers. :D

I have not been to the Emirates Stadium since it was open (went when it was almost open in 2005, went to watch Le Arse wreck Pompey 4-0 at Highbury) but from what I've heard from friends, and other places on teh internets pretty much the same feelings have been expressed (nice stadium, plastic atmosphere). Lots of people for one don't like that the stadium is called the Emirates so they call it Ashburton Grove...

I think that why the club has been making all that effort with the 'Arsenalisation' and 'RedAction'.

Well I guess I could understand why some people born and raised in the neighborhood liked Highbury more. I was sad to leave Highbury, but more happy to move to Emirates and I couldn't have any complaints the time I went there. But the point I was making is that the Emirates does help make us one of Europe's top clubs with it's sleek design and more importantly 60,000 seats, even if it's not as working class looking.

That lad vermelaen is gonna make it big at arsenal. reminds me of vidic..a relatively unknown defender turned into a world class defender.

Starting XI
Indeed, Verminator rocks!!

Gallas - Vermaelen as forward and better than any other teams' one (H) but still Arsenal is **** on defence (Not actually saying Gallas and Vermaelen is bad and btw it is continuing problem. Some people say it is crap.)

Now feeling that Wenger is great at digging ability not only youngs or unknowns but also Adebayor's money instinct (H)(Y)

Wow, 10 Liverpool + Arse players are in top 30 scorer. They can make a formation.

----------------Torres - Eduardo ---------------

Benayoun ------Gerrard------Cesc--------Kuyt--

Johnson------Vermaelen----Gallas------Diaby----

------------------ :( :( ------------------------

Yeah, Arsenal have the most goalscorers in the Premiership this season. I think it's like 11/12 to Chelsea/ManU's 7 or so. It's good because it means you don't have to rely on any player for goals, but at a Top 4 club that should be a given, and it kind of feels like everyone is scoring because the strikers aren't up to it like other strikers are. But we'll see, I'm yet to see Arsenal play this season.

We actually need a UCL trophy pretty badly, hope it comes soon :(.

Without any doubt, Wenger's one of the greatest managers in the history of this sport. His work and trust to young players is highly appreciated.

By the way, I think if you get rid of your players' injuries, you have one hell of the team this year with lots of big names.

Arshavin
Eduardo
Van Persie
Wallcott
Fabregas
Nasri
Rosicky
Gallas
Sagna
Clichy
+ your new defender who played impressing so far, vermaelen

and lots of talents that will probably shine in future, Ramsey, Diaby, Song ...

I really enjoy to watch your games, you play football very very well.(Y)
