According to the dutch media Arsenal may go for Feyenoord's Dirk Kuijt. Wenger went to Rotterdam to see him play against Vitesse. Half of the Arsenal board isn't convinced about his abilities and the other half is, but they won't rush into it. They will take the first step if Henry leaves in the summer, if he stays then they won't go for Kuijt.

It's bull****, Wenger was there for Ghaly, not Kuijt. Everybody in Europe has scouted Kuijt by now and Arsenal has been interested in Ghaly for a while now.

Aw man Torres at ARsenal would be INSANE!!!!!!!!!! He's allready playing well with Reyes in the Spanish National....... that would be a great partnership....

Although he is more of a finisher I think if we get him he will be feedin off Henry

Think of all the possibilities up front

Oh okay, say Wenger does get him(which I doubt) then it'll be; van Persie, Reyes, Henry, Bergkamp(just till season's end though), Torres. Unless Wenger has the sense knocked in him to play Reyes as a pure LW, then it'll be crowded up front with too much talent not to play regularly and there could be problems. But if he does then there'd be 4 forwards. But still not enough cover at the other end of the pitch IMO. 45 million to spend doesn't mean 45 million WILL be spent. I thought Wenger would've gone for Oddo since he was set for a move.

You know Torres isn't worth 20 mln, He is atleast 40 to 50 mln. He is Atletico Madrid's captain, plus the club's biggest hope. He will never be sold for 20 mln. Chelsea offered 60 mln and Atl. Madrid didn't accept it......

Vela's Arsenal move is confirmed

Vela scored five goals at the Under-17 World Championships

Mexican club Guadalajara have confirmed that 16-year-old striker Carlos Vela is now an Arsenal player.

Vela's father Enrique told the Mexican media on Wednesday that his son was set to move to England and Guadalajara have now confirmed the deal.

"It's official. Carlos Vela now belongs to Arsenal," said a club statement.

Vela, who scored five goals to help Mexico win the Under-17 World Cup, is expected to cost Arsenal just over £2m and he will sign a five-year deal.

Under the terms of the deal, Vela would play for Spanish side Valencia until he is 18, when he becomes eligible for a work permit in the United Kingdom.

Guadalajara vice-president Nestor De La Torre said: "Arsenal told me that they were planning to loan him out to another team in order to develop before playing in the Premiership.

"The sporting rights of Vela will go to Arsenal for five years. If Arsenal decided to sell Carlos the first option would go to Chivas (Guadalajara)."

Vela will follow in the footsteps of leading international goalscorer Jared Borgetti, the first Mexican to play in England's Premiership, and who joined Bolton earlier this year.

Something to be happy about. :hump:

dreath, even though our problem is scoring goals this season, we know we ahve the fire power to score goals.. our defense is weak and everybody knows that, we have one of the best offence in england... i dont get it, nwo why is wenger about to buy a 16 yr old? we need experience in teh team first.. god wenger is pissing me off.. these are good buys, but they have to be done after we get a good experiences defender.. or atleast a good replacement for viera...

Experience? What the hell do you call what van Persie is getting? He's getting 70 minutes a game! And Reyes. All this playing time=EXPERIENCE. No use wasting money on an old striker when there are 2 strikers who are doing the business, especially as of late. I hear you on the midfield part, and to some extent the defenders part.
