Cygan has also had some great games for the Arse too.He also scored 2 goals in one game this season for them......I remember that Arsenal once had a central midfielder who was just as bad if not worse than Cygan.He was clumsy,unskilled and slow.The opposition would always see him as the weak point of Arsenals defence,and this guy never failed to mess up.The opposition fans used to shout "eee awww.....eeee awww" because his nickname was DONKEY...he was that bad.Then one day ,after serving time in prison for drink/driving,he gave up the booze,put his head down and in a very short time became probably the best central defender in the world,in my opinion.Suddenly everyone was caling this guy "majestic"..he was made Arsenal captain,and his reputation grew worldwide until every player in the world knew his name and respected his talents.He became an Arsenal legend.In fact more than that ,he became an English legend.He was in the England team ,probably the first name pencilled in for every game.The linchpin of Englands defence he was awesome.I'm talking about Tony Adams of course.A legend then and a legend now.
The only difference between the "earlier" Tony Adams and Pascal Cygan,is the fact that Arsenal fans loyally supported and encouraged Adams,even when he was the joke of the EPL,and the laughing stock of every supporter in the land.They stuck with him.And he came out of that period ,as the great player that we all know.
Arsenal fans themselves have a song dedicated to Cygan that they sing when he plays,and its not at all complimentry.Maybe if Arsenals fans showed the guy some patience and encouragement,as they did for Tony Adams,instead of be-llittling the bloke every time he pulls on an Arsenal shirt, he would become more confident and more consistant,and probably begin having more good games than bad. Its little wonder the guy is so nervous every time he takes the field.He has a tough mentality,he is a tough guy, but if i played for a club ,and all i got from my OWN supporters were derogatory songs and abuse,well then,maybe your confidence would be shattered by that too.Mine would.
Get behind him ,encourage him and stop abusing the guy and maybe one day you will be hailing him as a legend too...like Tony Adams.
Be honest, you all thought at one stage that Adams would never be anything but a donkey.........and he prooved everyone wrong.

well i didn't realise Pascal was that age,but anyway,its a disgrace the way he is treated at Highbury.He at least has made it to the Arsenal team.All the fans who slag him off will never be able to say that.

The bid is set to be tabled at the end of the season and will comprise of a cash component plus striker Julio Baptista.
Brazil international Baptista almost joined the Gunners in the summer, only to accept a move to Real. But he is understood to be disappointed with his midfield role under coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger wants Baptista to lead his attack and knows he is facing a losing battle to hang onto Cole. The England left-back signed a new deal in the summer, but it reportedly has a clause allowing him to move to Real should they come knocking.

The England left-back - currently sidelined with a broken foot - has a release clause in his contract which it is said will allow him to leave Highbury for a modest fee.
Cole, 24, signed a 12-month extension to the remaining two years of his deal in the summer after becoming embroiled in the notrious tapping-up row with Chelsea.
The full-back was left red-faced and eventually fined £70,000 after secret talks with the Blues and his relationship with the Gunners hierarchy has never recovered.
Cole - who Madrid see as the long-term successor to Roberto Carlos - then negotiated a summer pay rise and a release triger, which he looks set to use.

IF cole leaves, only if, we allready have Clichy who can start and has proven himself so far at left back...... Plays almost exactly like Cole but of course Cole has more experience and has that over him....... And we got Hoyte who has been playing at LB at Sunderland and is one of thier best players according to thier reports...... So Wenger wouldnt need to find any back up in that position........
BTW- Senderos scoring for Switzerland and they look on there way to the WC if they can get past Turkey next game........
