Hill-Wood: Henry won't hold us to ransom

Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood will not overstretch the club's resources to keep striker Thierry Henry.

Frenchman Henry wants to stay at Highbury, despite interest from Barcelona.

But Hill-Wood admits there will be a limit to what Arsenal can offer the 28-year-old in the way of a new contract.

'We try to keep the wages at a level we can afford - it is not rocket science,' Hill-Wood told the Daily Star.

'If you don't, you get into trouble like Leeds did a few years ago, so there is a ceiling.

'We have limits but hopefully we can come to the right agreement, although I don't know that for certain.'

hmmmmmmm maybe someone owes pede54 an apology.....

I could hardly believe my eyes when I read Arsenal were interested in Samaras. The guy's a joke! He spent the entire season up till now in the shadow of Huntelaar and he's about the most inconsistent player in the Eredivisie. Wenger really should start buying some real improvements.

You guys don't take Carling Cup very seriously right now?

I'd like to see the team play harder in it.

But, it is 4th on the rader. If we win it, great. If we don't it's not the end of the world.

Apparently Walcott was at Arsenal training centre today.

Just before people jump on my back for tapping up. Walcott is 16 so he's not nder a professional contract and can talk to anyone, if FM taught me anything, it's that.
