I'm arguing with a ridiculous Serie A homer on twitter right now. He is convinced that Cassano is "the best player no one has heard of" and that he is the missing link for Chelsea or Arsenal to win the title. And he won't quit! Stuff like "you don't play for Madrid, Milan, and Inter if you aren't great" and that he and Robben are equals.
I responded to his first tweet about no one knowing who he was saying how ridiculous that is, Cassano is known to everyone and it's known that he's been an abject failure everywhere except Roma as a teen and Sampdoria. And there it went.

look, Gilardino is in the squad ... Cassano has just as many goals in just as many games, plus 3 assists (Gila has 0) ... they are also almost exactly the same age ... if Cassano doesn't get looked at coz Berardi produces consistently throughout the season, or Gabbiadini decides to shine, or El Sharaawy rediscovers his form, I'd be fine ... but Gila potentially going and Cassano not even getting a chance is not cool ... Graziano Pellè, let alone FantAntonio, would be more useful in Brasiu than Gila ...

If it were a matter of exclusion I'd say cerci in diamanti's place and marchisio in. He could also take the place of Giaccherini (who still baffles me with his selection) or monty (rightful but doubtful for he is prandellis #1) or candreva who is tailing off this season after a great 12/13
my personal list of 23 would look very different, but we know Prandelli loves the likes of Giaccherini and Candreva coz they're workhorses, and/or won't complain when they're sat on the bench and called upon sparingly ... Monty's inclusion doesn't affect Marchisio, coz they could/would play in the same system and in the same XI ... it's the switch to 3-5-2, or warped 4-3-3 where the workhorses come into it ...
