great selection ... I love Prandelli ... just wish he'd play 4-3-3 with Mario, Antonio, and Pazzo up front -- would be awesome to see an attacking contest between the former and current World Champions ...

Italy must call Osvaldo or Argentina will. He is amazing, in top10 of the game right now.
even Mauro Zárate is eligible (not comparing them; just saying) ... but Italy have excellent options in attack already ...

a 2-1 win over the World Champions to mark Prandelli's 1-year anniversary ...

not a memorable match: a very soft penalty for Spain, and a lucky deflected winner ...

Rossi, Captain Cassano, and Balotelli should all have scored at least one of their clear chances ...

MoM was Montolivo ... even without including that superb finish, he was excellent ... won't help Milan's cause to sign him at a lower price though, which sucks ...

Montolivo should sign for Milan, he can help them in champions league.

I always thought he's overrated... but considering the fact that Seeforf is 35, Ambrosini is 34 and Gattuso is 33, I guess Milan should indeed go shopping for some midfielders...

watching Prandelli's Italy is like watching the Barcelona from the early to mid 00s: trying to unselfishly pass the ball around the opposition defensive wall and into the net, while not pulling the trigger quick enough (if at all) ...

but at least an on-the-ground passing system is being embedded with an established squad, which bodes well ...

I remain optimistic of an Italy-Holland dream final ...

nice brace for Cassano to round out the qualis ... that first goal was a sweeet volley! and beautifully teed up by Daniele De Rossi -- my love for him continues to grow, be it in Prandelli's Azzurri, or as the Roman Libero under Lucho ...

apart from that, Osvaldo made his debut:

good for him ... no shortage of attacking options for next year's EUROs, which means no need for the likes of Borriello or Gilardino in the squad!

Super Mario at home, Fantantonio called up for morale but still recovering physically, and Matri starting ... so, I'll be watching Holland instead, and will catch this on replay ...

wouldn't mind seeing a 0-0 result (basically: no goals scored with either few chances created, or plenty wasted by the attack; and a cleansheet for the defence) ... if anyone is to get a goal, hopefully it's Nocerino ...

even if the US win [after a poor attacking performance from Italy, and a sh!tty setpiece goal for the USAmericans] that'd be fine by me: it'd force Prandelli to pick his top attacking talent and work with him/them on moulding the right attitude/image ...

awesome, I'm quite pleased with that result (for the aforementioned reasons) ... now I kinda wish Toto Di Natale was also selected, so he could have been lumped in with Matri in a toothless performance ...

anyway, congrats Shifty, enjoy the win!

he may not be able to help Milan stay in Europe tomorrow, but he's got a month to be match-fit and ready to lead the Azzurri at the EUROs! :bob:

well, Prandelli's tried out Ogbonna's versatility at LB, because it's not exactly the strongest area at the moment ... but I think PDC's competition for a spot on the plane would be Balzaretti ... luckily for De Ceglie, his rise to form has coincided with your team's return to form -- plenty of goals, and multiple consecutive cleansheets, against traditionally very good teams; it's the kind of stuff Prandelli looks for ... if he can keep up his sudden and rapid progress, his chances to be named in Prandelli's preliminary EURO squad should be good, I think ...

meanwhile, more good news for the front line: Pepito's back from injury too!

We're looking good for the Euros following Cassano and Rossi's return. I think I'll have PDC at LB over the likes of Balzaretti or Criscito. This would be my team:

-------------------------Buffon-------------------------

Maggio--------Bonnucci------------Chiellini------ De Ceglie

---------Nocerino----------Pirlo------------De Rossi

-------------------------Montolivo----------------------

-----------Cassano-----------------------Rossi--------------------

Bench: Viviano, Abate, Criscito, Marchisio, Aquilani, Di Natale, Balotelli
