but looking at a starting XI, with all options available, right now I'd go with:

the obvious objection is that the forwards wouldn't track back enough ... that's valid ... but I'd suggest that the right motivation is what's needed from the manager, to stimulate more industry from the obvious candidates for the 6 matches to glory ... I think if anyone can manage it, it'd be Prandelli ...

I'm also hoping that the choice to play 4-3-3 is taken out of Prandelli's hands due to the sheer quality of the personnel available ... but he has been reluctant to play that system (though I'm inclined to blame the lack of availability of all 3 top forwards at the same time), so here's what he's probably thinking of in the attacking sense:

CAM Montolivo/Marchisio/T.Motta

ST Rossi
ST Cassano

I'm not a fan of Thiago Motta ...

hah, definitely don't want to see Prandelli's team try to employ Napoli's tactics (I assume you were just showing your love for Christian, anyway), but the idea of tinkering with a hypothetical formation is appealing ... here's a potential hybrid using elements of Prandelli's concepts put through my own sieve of team selection and positioning ...

Prandelli won't pick suspended players ... and he can't pick players who aren't playing ... somehow Prandelli needs to be convinced to pick Balotelli on talent alone ... hmmm, I'm genuinely worried about his chances of being selected for the EUROs ...

of course I agree, but I was really anxious about what Prandelli's reaction would be ... however, after reading: << Dopo l'espulsione in Arsenal-City, Mario ha chiamato Prandelli per scusarsi: "Mister, l'ho fatta grossa: però guardi che erano dei falli di gioco...", il senso delle parole di Balotelli che, a quanto pare, hanno convinto il c.t. azzurro. >> and hearing that Prandelli is being positive about Mario, I'm relieved as hell!!!
