Overall best in Europe doesnt say anything. He's still a Rookie! He got drafted by a 50 + win team last year. I highly doubt that Darko will be their star player....The Pistons will have to adapt Darko to the NBA environment, he is far from having an NBA body, you put him on the court as a starter for Center or Power Forward against NBA veterans and we'll see who looks "really dumb".

If they thought he was gonna be a star contributing day in day out, they would not have picked up Elden Campbell.

dude...........you honestly think Euroleague has the same talent as the NBA? And about his body, I know that he cannot over power a Kenyon Martin in playing Power forward or Shaq if the Pistons are foolish enough to put him as a Center? Cause he will get EMBARASSED.

well, I have seen him play, so stop assuming...plus hes from Yugoslavia, hes not God. I swear you make every sports athelete from Yugoslavia out like they are the best thing in the world. .... PS Yugoslavia is reiging world champs ... and Yes we do have some of the best basketball players in the world ? So what ? got a problem ? And if he was picked 2 overall in the draft, and hes from Serbia ... then i bet he would be a good danm player now .. wouldnt he

Pervis Ellison was selected 1st overall by Sacramento a while back, HE SUCKED! Joe Smith was selected by Golden State 1st overall, he was very disappointing. Want me to continue? I know you'll probably not even understand why Im tell you these examples so I'll tell you now, it means, being selected 2nd in the NBA draft means nothing, he has to prove himself first and not overseas, but in the NBA where the best basketball players in the World play. Its not Darko's fault that Memphis foolishly traded away a number 2 draft pick. But thats the breaks. Now he is with a 50 win team who advanced deep into the playoffs, meaning they already have a strong squad. They lost no one of importance in the off-season. In fact they got stronger with the addition of veteran Elden Campbell. So to say that Darko is gonna start on the bench is not a slight to his talent, but rather a testament to how strong his team already is.
And if im not mistaken, wasnt darko coming off the bench in Serbia also? I seem to recall an analyst mention that he only averaged like 15 minutes per game.
