Someone might hit 150 against the Rockets this year. They didn't bother defending when they had Asik, now that they don't have him? Yikes.

I don't know about that. They really didn't get anything out of Asik, and Ariza is a big defensive upgrade over Parsons.

James Ennis to Miami Heat too..

:(

I'm really happy for him - he was never going to stay with the Wildcats and even if he didn't make the NBA, he'd still get significantly more money playing in the Euroleague.

He was nothing short of a raging success here so if anything, it helps Perth (and the NBL's) reputation of developing young NBA fringe talent. Hopefully they'll send more down here in future!

Only managed to catch him live once, which is slightly disappointing - interesting that he had a clause in his contract which allowed him to leave at any point if a NBA team came knocking

Yeah that opt-out clause was what gave us the edge over the more cashed up Euro/China leagues. From memory it expired at the start of 2014 (so he wouldn't leave right before NBL playoffs), but unless LeBron went down with injury it was never going to be exercised.

Be interesting to see which imports we sign this year!

Shifty, just took a look at the Bucks roster and they have a very bright future. Parker and Greek Freak can become stars and they have other young pieces which gives them flexibility and pieces to move if necessary. I think Kidd will do well too.

Why the fuck does the NBA have so many games? Don't players get fried playing every other day?

The best players only play like 35 minutes per game, the worse the player they play even less

Yeah, so you can sub in and out, and it has less contact than other sports. The players seem fine, although sometimes it can add up towards the end of the season. Sometimes analysts say the player is "burned out" when they perform badly in the playoffs, after playing lengthy minutes all season long.

Cool thing: The spurs, last year's champions, had a revolutionary system where they rotated players a lot and no player had a high amount of minutes per game. Most teams play their best players a lot but this team was able to keep their starter's minutes low and even won with it! Part of the reason it worked is because their game model revolves a lot around ball movement and "team-work" principles instead of star player ability, therefore their parts are more interchangeable.
