This league is a borefest. Even La Liga is tighter these days. You have as big an advantage as Celtic in Scotland, and they had to relegate a team to get such a big margin!

Lol very good point there. By half team I meant Borussia Dortmund.

If Man Utd were in the Bundesliga, we would've been 2nd or 3rd despite that poor season. (H)

By half you mean future Bayern players.

No, you would be behind Dortmund and Leverkusen. Probably would qualify for the CL though.

Bundesliga teams are easier to win though. An example of that is Bayer 0 -5 United. So we may have gotten a few more wins and would probably have been 2nd or 3rd.

BRB, Carlos*ing off to that pass by Thiago.

E: Goal for Mandzu now. Wolfsburg blew their chance to win. They really did have this game.

You beat Arsenal 8-2 a few years ago. Both wins aren't really indicative of overall league quality. I mean, despite the huge advantage Bayern has over the league, in the past 20 years Manchester United has won more domestic titles.

It actually looked like Wolfsburg might make it, oh well.

The thing is that teams in the Bundesliga are very top-heavy, especially ones like Hoffenheim, and they wind up winning 5-2 in one game and losing 5-2 the next. I don't think ManU would do as well there as nady seems to think. The thrashings Schalke and Leverkusen have received in Europe does not necessarily translate to league performance.

Starting XI
Arsenal weren't exactly title contenders back then. Whereas Bayern is going to dominate the Bundesliga for some years to come now, i don't think there'll be many teams able to compete with them, especially when you take Bayern's depth into consideration. You guys would probably beat most of the teams with your "B squad".

But yeah other than Bayern Bundesliga is pretty interesting, stadiums are packed, lots of goals are being scored and the overall quality is quite good.

It's a shame that Dortmund has been riddled with so many injuries this season, but they don't have enough depth to compete in both BuLi and CL (which seems to be the main priority for them).

Okay, but Leverkusen aren't title contenders either.

And don't be so certain that we will dominate forever. We haven't even won our 2nd consecutive title yet; sure we will, but Dortmund was historically dominant for the previous 2 titles before that. The Bundesliga has a way of evening out and only having Bayern win roughly 1/2 of the titles. Schalke and Leverkusen are accumulating a scary amount of young German talent and should be able to challenge in 2-3 years.

Oh, and it's 1-6 now (H)

This is tiki-taka I could get behind. You know, one that actually tries to score goals.

The commentator (only good Spanish one) made a good point today that the Bundesliga just isn't a good tactical league. I'd argue that in terms of quality of players (especially in terms of youth), they're up right up there but there needs to be an improvement in the tactical coaching so those great players can form great teams that challenge for honors. Bayern has the best players, best tactical manager and most depth in the league. If Borussia had depth, they'd challenge them. Schalke has decent depth but horrible tactics. Leverkusen need depth and tactics and everyone else needs everything, pretty much.

Teams keep hiring managers that are already in the league structure so it might take a while for that change. Klopp is the only truly good 'HG' manager, though, and it would be nice to see someone hire someone foreign with new ideas to help the league evolve.

It is true. I think last year every team, or maybe all but 1, played 4-2-3-1. I disagree that Klopp is the only good HG manager though, I think Tuchel and probably Weinzierl are both very good and while Favre isn't technically HG, he's been in Germany for a long time.

Its the lack of fear that sets the German teams and their managers tactically behind. They are afraid to adapt and modify their styles in order to avoid a hiding or stifle opposition and they end up coming unstuck every now and then, for example Leverkusen are completely superior to ac Milan, but you wouldn't see milan get pounded by psg at home

I forgot about Favre. I'm not as high on Tuchel as you are but Favre is quite good. Gladbach's form is awful though.
