I used to like Hamburg and watch their games when Mahdavikia played for them ... can't forget their classic encounter with Juve that ended 4-4, Mahdavikia was on fire that day ... one goal and few assists ...

I think Shifty hates Mahdavikia as well, because he badly raped USA in World Cup 1998

I honestly don't remember. The only game I really have a recollection of that year was watching Germany DESTROY us up their left flank all game. That left back, Ziege possibly, although I don't recall anymore, had such a great game.

Bundesliga ended perfectly I'd say. Wolfsburg and Gladbach got into CL, Dortmund didn't get saddled with Europa games so they can focus on the league. Freiburg relegated and Hamburg stay up so long as they win the relegation play-off.

Dortumnd can still qualify for Europa League if they beat Wolfsburg ... or they may be already qualified since they became 7th in League and Wolfsburg is already qualified for CL.

Damn I was hoping Hamburg finally falls. That stupid electronic clock counting the years they have been in the Bundesliga will continue.

They have some good players and a better platform to build on to achieve success. Whatever ex-Communist backyard team would have replaced them would go straight back down like Paderborn. If HSV make some smart personnel changes they can start building towards midtable. If they go do down, they will probably stay down and so the Bundesliga loses a giant.
