HSV competing for a top 4 spot would be pretty remarkable. They were the most miserable team a few years ago, playing relegation playoffs more than once I think. Those were horrible, horrible teams. Who did they sign?

I had I had quick glance. They signed American striker Bobby Wood from Union Berlin. Is he any good? They also signed Kostic from Stuttgart and Halilovic on loan from Barca. They also got rid off a lot of dead wood from those bad teams.

Do you remember Heiko Westermann? I remember him being so bad. Ajax signed him from Betis for his experience and leadership qualities (after failing at Betis). After one miserable game he's now playing for Ajax's B-team in the second division.

Bobby Wood is not good.

Westermann was one of those "veterans" that just seem to have been around forever. Never rated him.

I heard Rafa Honigstein (whom I also like) had said that and made a big case of the quality of the players Dortmund have brought in, but he seems to neglect the fact they have lost hummels, Gundogan and mkhitaryan whom are better than most of the players they bought

Well, Gundogan hasn't really played for several years and you can at least make the argument that Gotze plus the additional strength in depth more than makes up for Mkhitaryan. Hummels is tough though, but they have upgraded other positions too. Schmelzer to Guerreiro could be a huge difference.

Yes but Bayern added hummels and renato Sanches, and they only have goTze because Bayern didn't want him. Also I think it is ludicrous to say there is any comparison between tuchel and Ancellotti as managers - you can argue that Carlo is not perhaps up there with the very greats (and you can also argue that he is) but what has Tuchel achieved so far really?

I think it's odd that Carlo has 3 CL wins and only 3 league wins. Now, I don't think that really means anything as far as this season, but I do think we'll drop off some from Pep at least in the league.

Oh yeah we all vote based on one game

AT least Ribery played a game. Some members selected players who may not touch a football in their life again and puts them in the centre of defense.

Was going to, but then I remembered that Messi has never won a cup with Argentina solely because of him and hence why he is stalling as a player at the international level.
