I've problem !

I want to begin my carrer Wimbledon ( MK Dons ) but in Premiership, no Coca Cola 2.

How to move the team from Coca Cola 2 to Premiership in order to start carrer ?

I try by CM08 but I begin Coca Cola 2 all the time.

You need to modify the tournamnets.

but i think its not an id problem with the tournament.
because i have only take the uefa and ucl by defaut (96,97)and just added team and qualifications rounds !
but now its appear that the tournament works fine with just 2 round qualifications and 9 match by round for the ucl !!
for the uefa cup its 13 match for the qualifications round all works fine like this if i add a match more , fifa crash at the end of season
the limitation is more restrictive this year ?

maybe like you said a young player problem !!

If you want to post your DB I can take a look. Btw, I cannot guarantee that a modified tournament will work in any condition, we are modifying a game that was not born for this scope and all the knowledge about tournaments has been developed with a try and error process (I take the opportunity to remember that donovanfan was the first to understand the tournament structure and I want to give him the credit he deserves). There are some good rules to follow in the design of a tournament but they cannot guarantee anything, also because we have understood that part of the tournament management is embedded in the FIFA08.exe and this part is not described in the database. So try and error is definitely the only way to obtain a result.

Unfortunately this feature has a major impact and is not easy to implement. I started but I have suspended it, maybe I will be able to find a better solution in the near future.

Well without it there is also a major impact of patches not being able to work because of mal-assigned IDs. (:/)

What i mean to say is if there is an id that is not used in original FIFA, eg 141 for a stadium, that the user should be able to install the stadium directly to that empty id. same for players, teams etc......

What kind of error would cause the game to crash before it even starts, and is there a way to fix it without restoring the game to an earlier backup?

I have a question about Adboards, anyway... Tried to import new ones for Benfica and the portuguese teams, but they only appear when on Career mode..
If you make a fast match, etc.. they never appear.. only the EA originals..

any idea?

i still have lots of problems with importing faces. game keeps crashing when i try to play with some teams that have faces imported. not sure why but it does crash.

Not sure what your problem might be but I had the same issue last night. Turns out my FIFA.FAT was 266k. Deleted some files as per the instructions on other threads and brought it back down to 244k. Now it works again.

That is a problem with FIFA 08. To get addboards in regular kickoff mode, you need to import them to id 99. Otherwise they will only show up in Carrer mode. There's no way to change that.

Please update the cmp.-Patch function!
At the moment we are not able to create big patches with leagues and tournaments with it.

I think the problem is that all the items that get imported get a new id which is different to the id's of the editors database. The should be something like a checkbox on which you can choose original ids or new ids for the items.

I think this is why many patch-makers have problems with releasing their patches withour errors and installation bugs.

dont know how but itspissing me off all i did was import kits to alot fo my teams and the game crashes when i try to use the team don't know why. i rebuilt the fat and bh files tons of times and nothing. i seriously dont know why i also tried deleteing my fifa 08 folder in my documents still nothing. just cant seem to figure it out.

EDIT: i removed all GK kits from my championship league and West brom seems to work now so it looks like it was the GK kits. what should i do to solve this problem so i can use GK kits?

lordspawn, i'd try and make the GK kits 512x512 and see how that goes, maybe there's too much on the screen for your PC to handle.

You can add a team to a league (including the Rest of The world) from the League Window, select your team and click the add button. If the team does not appear in the list just refresh the window with the refresh button.
