Hi there, i have a problem that maybe someone can tell me how to fix it. Ok here we go: first i create a new team and i make a new formation for it. Later i want to make a custom tournament and i when i want to play all the teams has the same formation!!. In CM all is ok, i had asigned the custom formation to the custom team, but inside the game and in tournament mode now way. If i play a friendly game no problems. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any info.

you needed to have a back up of your database file coz you're editing the database in cm08 so it changes the defaults so uninstalling doesn't work.

Basically there aren't any hidden files.

Thanks for the reply, AsmodaiPlay. So you're saying CM08 actually permanently edits the .db files on the DVD?? I had no idea it could do that! That's the only reason I didn't make a backup, I assumed I could just reinstall if I didn't like what I did with CM08.

Any suggestions for how I can get back to square one? Are clean .db files available anywhere for download?

it doesn't change anything on the DVD! How does it ovewrite files on a dvd...come on...do you guys know anything about computers?

All CM08 does ir overwrite the db files on your game folder.

As a backup, i usually just make another copy of my game on a another folder. That way I don't even have to look for the dvd.

Man, I agree. I have no idea how it could edit the DVD itself. But after deleting every file related to CM08 or FIFA08 from my computer and then reinstalling FIFA 08 and finding that changes I made using CM08 are still there, then what other possible explanation is there?

When you unistalled, did you delete the fgame older manually and the Fifa 08 folder in My Documents as well?

CM08 creates a zdata44.big file. When you unistall Fifa, it only unistalls the original files. It will not delete the zdata44.big file or any other file created with CM08. So if you re-install the game to the same folder as before, it will pick up the files that were left behind.

Once you uninstall Fifa, you have to make sure you delete the game folder manually.

After uninstalling FIFA, I manually deleted as many remaining FIFA files or folders as I could find. I'm pretty sure this included the FIFA folder and the folders from My Documents. However, maybe I missed something. I'll look specifically for this zdata44.big file.

Finally, I have got the original .db back! I uninstalled FIFA again, deleted the FIFA folder from My Documents AND emptied it from the recycle bin (which may or may not have helped) then I reinstalled FIFA in a different folder. I couldn't find a zdata44.big file anywhere so I'm still not sure what was causing the problem, but at least I now know that I wasn't going mad or that CM had edited the DVD!!

Maybe CM08 created a different file in your case. In Cm08, under options, you can assign a specific number to the zdata file. In my case I assigned zdata44.big. Maybe yours is zdata43.big or a different number.

I have a question,

If I add a new team and new players with CM08 to Rest of the World, will those players end up being traded or scouted if I play manager mode?

I want to add the team I play for in real life, but I don't want to have the guys I play with showing up in manager mode. Is that possible to do?

Hi Rinaldo,
I've got 3 simples doubts.
1) In CM08, is it possible to change the player who kick the free kicks or penalties or the captain? On the "Formation" tab this info isn't editable (actually I change these using DB Master, and change it directly in the database).
2) Can I create or modify a new formation for a team? Each teams can have a specific formation, but I want to change it. But don't want to use a generic formation. Is it possible to do that?
3) Do you know any limitation on the reward table? Because when I buy a item which ID is greater than 127, the game simply crash.

I appreciate if you could help.

I thought it couldn't edit the DVD as well but i had no idea how to change it back. I'm guessing it was the zdata files anyway. I didn't do anything to them when i tried uninstalling.

I asked that a few pages back so i might as well give you an answer. Drag and Drop the player into the box for captain e.t.c

eg: select Terry on Chelsea and move him into the captain box and that would work

Formations you do on the icon that looks like a pitch between managers and sponsors.

And about the reward limitation, anybody has the same problem?
Even if I change the reward price to zero, when I buy it, the game crash. This only happens if the reward ID is greater than 127.

would it be possible that i imported so many things into the game that now is not working?
i've just added a lot of Kits (for major club teams and NT, including keepers)
all of fiordy's fonts
all of the boots
3 or 4 stadiums
SG United, La Liga 90s, Serie A 90s, netherlands

any help?

dont know if anyone knows this but i was just experimenting and . i managed to change the font on the Jerseys somewhat. i saw looking in the gui folders and saw some fonts. so i decided to take 1 of my fonts (in this case Symbol (greek))

rename it to the name of the fonts in teh folder put the old ones in a seperate foler and started fifa 08 and voila the font on the kits was Symbol font. (also the menus were that dont also but thast because renamed all the font files and made them all symbol)

so if someone makes a font file for a certain leagues letters like EPL we can at least have 1 leagues fonts. im going to experiment with the old epl font file.

Hi Guys, first post, and, its an issue, sort of. I have been adding kits, boots, stadiums etc, and, everything has gone fine, also tested at various points along the way (just a Fifa noob, not PCs haha), anyway, using the latest version of CM08 (amazing bit of kit), and, had various things which caused the game to crash just as the match is loading.

Everything was fine (i solved previous issues with common sense) until I changed the adboards and the flags for Rangers (only adds and flags I have changed). Now, all i did was import some *png images downloaded from this site, which look fine in CM08, and saved. I went to a friendly match, chose rangers v celtic (default) and after you choose teams and it goes to load the match, it crashes out of Fifa.

Have tried the "reset my squads" option in game which works for everything else, do I have to change any other settings within CM08 or does anyone know why this is crashing? I havent altered the number of flags etc either, just the 6 that were there.

Sorry it was long winded, hope someone can help

problem saving data in root folder

i want to add stadiums, from several cm patches i had such us soccer crazy stadiums or patches i made myself , after opening my fifa.db i chose save data in root folder, then i open fifa db and then i selec and install the patch but it always install in a a zdata, what im doing wrong??
ihave career extension pack install,
