In every country you'll find tracks favouring the Home team...this isnt the first time. When we play in Perth we dont keep on whinning juz abt pitch.Recent example was of NewZealand. If it was hard for OZ batsmen to bat there it was same for Indians too..Sachin Laxman showed the way how you gotta play at this track.
I agree it wasnt the perfect pitch but theres once in a while you gotta play on these tracks.

There is a difference between this, and other instances tho..

Perth is ALWAYS a bouncy wicket, and is known as a pace bowlers paradise..We dont doctor it, it is just the way it always is, and always will be. India made this pitch basically less then test standard to favour spinners...We dont mind, we have the worlds best/2nd best spinner anyway, BUT he happened to be injured, and the fact is, it wasnt a test standard pitch.

NZ pitches are another kettle of fish again..It IS always hard to bat away from home, but even the Indians struggled on this wicket...As I said, the evidence is 600 runs in a test match that had two teams full of guys that average atleast 40, and in over half the cases almost 50 or more...Any test that lasts only 2 days, is a joke.

I KNOW! McGrath, the legend.

I started a bit of a saying thing now around work and home, if there ever is an awkward silence or uncomfortable situation, just pipe out:

"How good was McGrath"

Everyone will love it.

About the Mumbai wicket-

You said Perth is also bouncy and favours the Aussies, but in Perth the match lasts 5 days often, or at least four. Not just over 2.

If you like a pitch lasting 2 days once every test series, you suck balls.

Let's not forget Gillespie either!... esp. his celebration! :p

Here's a compilation of 2 great moments of the 100+ run partnership...

(Gillespie celebrating, and McGrath hitting the six) (H)

i am dissapointed that they have not put up a fight as they have played against crappy sides and that is hardly a challednge before you play Australia.

Welcome back saurabh.

I reckon the sort of pitch we had at Bombay came a year too late. That's what should have been made for the Kiwis after the debacle in NZ. As far as the Aussie series, and indeed the entire season so far goes, it's best left forgotten. A belated Happy Diwali and Eid Mubarak to you too, and enjoy the Test series against South Africa.
