Was it a heavy challenge? I've only read articles so far where it was said that it wasn't a particularly hard challenge.

EDIT: Whether he's effective or not, I can't believe Heskey's going to his fourth senior major international tournament

The source I read said it was a "heavy challenge" but Capello said it was a "normal challenge". Anyway Heskey shouldn't be blamed for that. These things happen...

Yeah bad team... I was trying to highlight the fact Cole and Rooney scored. Rooney particularly hasn't scored in a while for England. Hopefully this will boost his confidence. Unfortunately he has a bad habit of taking time to hit his stride.

As for the team... it wasn't pretty Johnson showing his true colours again.

The Rooney Refree incident shows once again why Rooney should never be given the captain's armband for England or Man Utd. He's 24 now and hasn't yet resolved his temper problems.

Talksport reckon they have the team for tomorrow. Three changes, but don't get excited .. Upson for Carragher, Milner for Lennon (?) and ...... Defoe for Heskey!

We're toast. I strongly suspect Terry's outburst has cost Joe Cole any chance of coming in, if Capello had picked him it would have suggested he'd bowed to the pressure.

Defoe for Heskey is a good change, Heskey has been garbage.

Milner for Lennon is a stupid change though...Milner played like an idiot in the first game.

Defoe for Heskey on it's own merits is a good change, but it looks like on this evidence that Capello is still trying to accomodate Lampard by shunting Gerrard off to the left of midfield. IT DOES NOT WORK!

What he should do is bring Joe Cole in on the left, push Gerrard up into the hole behind Rooney (as he does with Torres) then you have Barry and Lampard in the middle (and I'd keep Lennon for his pace and crossing, on the right)

Putting in Defoe and Milner was the greatest decision Capello could do. The missed sitters by Defoe and Rooney are going to hurt them though i'm afraid.

haha that's funny. My cousins wife is American, we went to a pub in Surbiton to watch the Eng vs USA game crammed out with England fans. She came in waving the damn US flag, couldn't help but laugh. Was quite surprised, no inappropriate comments all through the match.
