The tournament features 12 teams in this year's instalment, the names and method of qualification where necessary are as follows:

- USA, Mexico and Canada. (Automatic qualified) -- for the tournament to be of any repute these HAD to be there
- Top three teams from 2004 Digicel Caribbean Cup (Jamaica, Cuba, Trinidad & Tobago)
- Four teams from UNCAF Cup 2005 (Costa Rica, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama)
- Two guest teams: South Africa and Colombia.

Go Canada today! This game is the most important to qualify in my opinion (have to beat either USA or Costa Rica and Costa Rica is more accesible).

agreed, the USA looks to have put together a pretty strong roster. Missing a few key players, but I don't think it'll matter too much. I'd definatly fancy our chances against CR over the States for sure. I think our best bet is to hope for draws against CR and the USA, then get the win in the last match.. if all goes well.
