man, the announcers on Sportsnet are the most biased commentators ever (N)

Craig Forrest just hates on the Central Americans. Every foul against them he says it's a dive.

Canada just sucked. Yallop should be fired with his A-League bias crap. He starts Al Gerba who travelled back and forth from Seattle to Montreal and doesn't even play Occean. He even chooses Peters over Occean when they desperately needed someone to head the ball. I don't understand why Yallop chooses Peters over other older, more experienced players.

are mexico bringing most of the players from the confed's cup sqaud ?
We've brought a fair amount of players for this tournament who played in the Confederations Cup. We're going to be using some of younger players as well so it isn't exactly our best squad but they should be competitive nonetheless.

some of them... no Oswaldo this time :nape:
I don't think we'll miss him, our 3 keepers for this tournament are probably as talented as him and either one of them will probably be our future #1 for the NT. I'm sure Boca Juniors' fans remember Jesus Corona. (H)

Oh, and I'll think we'll win 2-0 tomorrow. From what I've read, South Africa brought a lot of youngsters so I like our chances, especially since it's going to be like playing a home game in LA for us.

Ya!!

Canada loses again because of horrible concacaf reffing :lui: :lui: :lui:

.....and Prendercast is actually supposed to be the best ref around here to. Not saying we played that great to begin with, but yet again to have a game decided by a dodgy call, i f*cking love it!!!

I look forward to the USA game, cause it'll be the one time we play a game in concacaf when the referee isnt 100% bias to the other team. And rony, how can you not agree with Forrest's comments?? diving, faking injuries and overall cheating is the bread and butter for central american football

Forrest is absolutly right, and I don't care if he's biased. You think tv commentators in Central America would make an attempt to be neutral? It's bad enough having our "home" crowds cheering against us, at least let's get some support from the tv guys.

Frank Yallop sucks ass... I remember when Canada first hired him and everyone on this forum was saying how he was the right man for Canada and would take them places... he's driven them right into the ****in ground (N)

ufojeremy: "they really really really need a holiday"

i agree but Mexico really likes going to the Confederations Cup....

I still think Yallop is alright, he's just testing the waters right now. The Gold cup isn't that important, even for Canada, but it's still a good way for the inexperienced to get some caps at the international level. We weren't that great in qualifying, but I can't blame Yallop, we really did get f*cked by some bad calls that killed us.

Yallop sucks. He has such a A-League bias it's not even funny. He subs in Jaime Peters during the WCQ when he didn't even have a club but benches Stalteri, Pozniak, etc.

And now he picks Ali Gerba over Rob Friend.

And if he's going to pick players like Will Johnson and Jaime Peters then he should've included David Edgar.

And his style of play is so useless. All he does is tell players to cross the ball into the box when we only have a few strikers that can even head the ball. Canada has regressed under him and it's just too bad that Osieck acted like a dictator or else Canada would have improved.

There are even still some good seats left on Ticketmaster.... :(

Well, atleast i'll see the game at work.

Some news on the squad that may play tonight.

From ESPN Deportes.
http://espndeportes.espn.go.com/story?id=343487

GK
Corona

A very good decision, the guy did a spectacular game against Boca, he deserves it.

DF
Ricardo Osorio
"Maza" Rodriguez
Carlos Salcido

Two from the Confed-Cup.

MF
Hector Altamirano
Antonio Naelson "Sinha"
Israel Lopez
Rafael "Chiquis" Garcia
Gonzalo Pineda

I can understand why he called Pineda, he did a great pair with Salcido in the Confed-Cup, but Garcia? Lopez? Altamirano?. This guys have showed nothing in the past, where's "El Loquito" Juan Pablo Garcia?.

FW
Jared Borgetti
Rafael Marquez Lugo

Lugo needs to start showing something in this cup, hopefully he will, and Jared? you all know Jared.. :)

Here's the complete Gold Cup Squad:

José Corona Rodríguez
Francisco Ochoa
Moisés Muñoz
Mario Méndez
Gonzalo Pineda
Héctor Altamirano
Francisco Javier Rodríguez
Carlos Salcido
Ricardo Osorio
Carlos Morales
Ismael Rodríguez
Antonio Naelson
Rafael García
Luis Pérez
Israel López
Gerardo Galindo
Alberto Medina
Daniel Osorno
Jared Borgetti
Omar Bravo
Aaron Padilla
Juan García
Rafael Márquez Lugo

Quite different from that of the Confederations Cup.
