I feel those reasons too. I think we are screwed, in just 5 minutes we lost our chance to be already in the world cup, first time ever we can blame Ospina for the lost. I don't even want to watch the match tomorrow.
Oh God, I was so pissed off because of that as well. I mean Carlito Sanchez (have to mention him) and Ospina are usually the most reliable players who are always consistent. Also if you want to lay some blame onto someone, then Santi Arias qualifies as well. It was 3 against one, two players not offside and their goalkeeper off the line, all he fucking had to do was to pass the ball to Falcao who could've put it into an empty net and made it 2-1.. But oh dear..
Carlos Sanchez especially, I love that guy. His passing range is unbelievable. Too bad he isn't doing so good at club level, but it's so with many Colombians.. C. Zapata usually turns up for the NT, despite rarely playing for Milan.. His experience is much needed in the back. And Yerry Mina is my favourite player lol. It's good that you guys have so much depth in the CB department. Yerry Mina is something else though, he guarantees you at least 5-7 goals a season club level, since he's such a threat from set pieces.. Scored 2 against Cameroon in a friendly in the beginning of June for example. Too bad he's injured and Zapata is out against Peru. This means Davinson Sanchez and Oscar Murillo probably, but I'm content with that.
I think Cuadrado should be rested instead of Yimmi Chara, who's been awesome in recent matches. While Cuadrado is seriously lacking in the final third when it comes to offence.
I think Pekerman should go for the safer opinion and start Wilmar Barrios instead of Aguilar.. Aguilar is a fantastic player, but his body is seriously giving up. He's so important for our midfield though, when fit and on form. Carlito Sanchez provides the defensive quality, and his passing range is incredible. While Aguilar is the regista type of player who keeps things tidy in midfield, so James doesn't have to drop back so much.
Also, I don't want to see Cardona starting either.. The guy is obese, and is best when coming off the bench.. So maybe go with both Falcao and Teo? or Falcao and Luis Muriel (on the left flank)... Damn I'm soo nervous about this match.. I actually thought it would be tonight, but I messed up, cancelled work the next day for it, got drunk and an hour before "the match" discovered that it's not tonight.. So I gotta do it again.
But don't lose hope, we'll win that fucking match and qualify. It might seem bizarre me saying "we", but I've been following Colombian NT for so long, I watch every match, and there's no other way around it. Watching the team in action is always an highlight in my life to be fair.. It beats Man United and important CL matches etc...
I also love that there are so many Colombians playing together at Boca Juniors (Frank Fabra, Wilmar Barrios, Edwin Cardona and Sebastian Perez)... which helps.
Frank Fabra looked like a lost cause like a year ago, only good offensively, but useless defensively, but he has really improved in that position. I always wanted Farid Diaz to start instead of him, because he was more reliable defensively, but not anymore. The guy's class, and has a big future ahead of him.
Santi Arias is looking good too.. As long as Colombia doesn't have to field Frodo Stefan Medina. Now that guy is rubbish.
I just want the team to qualify for the WC so damn much.
Sorry for the long post, I got so pumped up for the match and a tad bit drunk.. And now I've confused the days..
Also, James is spectacular.. Every time he puts on the Colombia shirt he plays so well.. Loads of Bayern fans said after his few first performances for the club that he's already a better passer than Thiago, who was basically one of the best players in the Bundesliga last season.
