Now, stop being xenophobic. Vergara will bring alot of money into the league, and will create more popularity for the MLS around the western states. What more could you want?

Oh....No Legion2005 for me...:(

Charles Miller brought football/soccer to Brasil. Now, the only foreign players brazilian teams should sign are brittish?

And racism can't be explained by moneymaking and popularity of soccer.

You're right.

Either way, the fact that some of us didn't like that won't change anything.

If MLS has a problem with the club's policy, I'm sure they'll let Vergara & Co. know about it. Like Shiryu said, just wait and see what happens.

The team doesn't even exist yet......gotta love these poeple...

Please, don't mention the word Racism again, it a pretty strong word. Not any of the Chivas players, Vergara, or the Chivas follower are racist in any way. If you don't know about the club, i would suggest you don't talk about it. Just wait alright, stop initiating senseless fights.

Only hispanics are allowed to play -> Other races' people can't play -> Discrimination -> Racism

Anyway, as I said, we arguing here won't change any situation.

but it wont though... Chivas USA will probably sign lots of players that are like a lot of the mexican SG members, they're born in the US but just happen to have Mexican parents or grandparents.

It wont be against any rules since it'll be an American club signing American players.

And I guess I can call Toluca a racist club since they've never had any African, European or Asian players. :p

I just read that the players that will play for Chivas USA are Ramon Ramirez, Francisco Palencia and Martin "Pulpo" Zuñiga.

Pinche Pendejos verdad? You dont know what you are talking about. I'm American but my parents are Mexican and I consider myself more Mexican than American (now im racist right?) just like all you fools that had your great great great great grandparents come over here many years ago and claim yourself Americans. The only real Americans here are the Indians so if you are Indian my respects if your not then you need to be quiet. Im pretty sure Chivas officials explained over and over again our tradition to the MLS because maybe they did not understand it, due to it been very pathriotic and respected world wide (something US will never understand).

All the below Championships have been accomplished by 100% Mexicans! That is not including the other tourneys Chivas has won in the past that have less importance, like the most recent one vs. Boca Jrs. (COPA COORS).
Championships!
League (Amateur years) 1910-11, 1911-12, 1916-17, 1921-22, 1922-23, 1923-24, 1924-25, 1927-28, 1929-30, 1932-33, 1934-35
League (Professional Years) 1956-57, 1958-59, 1959-60, 1960-61, 1961-62, 1963-64, 1964-65, 1969-70, 1986-87, Verano 1997
Co-champions of League 1951, 1954, 1962-63, 1968-69, 1982-83, Invierno 1998, Clausura 2004
Campeón de Campeones 1956-57, 1958-59, 1959-60, 1960-61, 1963-64, 1964-65, 1969-70
Co-champión of League Cup (different from the League Championship) 1961-62
This is why we are on a mission setting an example to all soccer clubs that the best team in Mexico to this date does not need players from other countries and it's success have always come from 100% Mexican players. If Mexican soccer concentrated on it's own people I believe that the Mexican NT would have won at least one World Cup already but they want the quick FIX and buy a player from an other country and leaves out that Mexican star on the bench. In Los Angeles Chivas in my opinion it will give those Hispanic/American players more attention and maybe one day they will be considered by the US NT to play or they can play for their other nationalty and play for that NT. If any US supporter here wants to say that Chivas is racist than why does the US NT only select white, and black players why dont they ever select a Mexican/American to the NT? I know there are plenty of SG members here that know a Mexican/American player that can play soccer really good but never get noticed. I wonder why? I know that guy "MEMO" or whatever is not the only Mexican/American soccer star right? (H)

Trade talks between the Metros and Crew for Szetela are officially off. Columbus asked for Guevara in return.

Don Garber's State of the League address:

Donovan addresses future:

http://www.mlsnet.com/MLS/news/mls_news.jsp?ymd=20040730&content_id=10062&vkey=news_mls&fext=.jsp

Garber confirmed a developmental/reserve league MLS is starting next year. Donovan might be going to Bayer Leverkusen after all:

"They [Leverkusen] got a new head man in charge -- he's actually the first guy that scouted me when was 17," says Donovan. "[Agent] Richard [Motzkin] and him have exchanged a couple of e-mails.

The fact of the matter is, I definitely don't want to be there for three or four or five years. If a situation developed for a very short period of time and something could happen, I might be open to that. But if not, then we've got to find alternative options."

That certainly sounds a lot more promising than what he said a month ago.

I don't give a crap about about chivas' history the fact is that LA chivas is an mls expansion team, it's not like chivas is moving from mexico to the usa. because of this, the new chivas has no history or tradition to follow, all it has is the same name.

and whoever it was that mentioned patriotism, if LA chivas wanted to be patriotic they would sign america players only (any legal citizen of the US) considering they are an american team. oh well I guess this will finally give me a team to hate in this league, it'll be great to see my boys the fire kick mexico chivas' ass every year, oh I'm sorry I meant LA chivas. how could I make a mistake like that?

Anyone watching the Celebration Game? Wynalda just owned Yallop and another defender and scored the opening goal. Waldo looks really fast and sharp compared to the rest of these guys.

Are you guys this ignorant? Can you read? Can you understand? Let me explain again ignorants! there will be 3 100% MEXICO born players only and, 12 other Americans (like you want it to be said) playing for Los Angeles Chivas. In other words let me explain this again Only (3) Mexican born players will be in the team and the rest all AMERICANS get it? You probably dont haw

You will probably see this guy next year:rockman:

WTF??? They're only bringing in 3 Mexican players. The rest of the players that they'll sign were either born in the US or are legal citizens.

EDIT: Shit, nevermind, Blanco pointed that out. :p
