Actually I remember watching something on fox sports world about the Arsenal of Argentina and they are inspired by the Arsenal of the EPL.

So the MLS will expand to 12 again, does that mean there will be a central conference?

I think they should consolidate the east and western ones first before making a new one. :)
I hope they'll keep it east-west or go to a single table. Here's what it would look like:

East

New England
MetroStars
DC United
Columbus
Chicago
Kansas City

West

FC Dallas
Colorado Rapids
Salt Lake City
San Jose Earthquakes/Club America Houston/Club America San Antonio
LA Galaxy
LA Chivas

Hmmmm i like the conference idea with NBA, MLB and other american sports but MLS has only 10 teams to make 2 groups. I say when the MLS gets to 20 or something above that then they should split into 2 groups.

How do they determine the teams that qualify for the MLS cup?

do they combine them in a large table and pick the top 4 or something? :o

The top 4 teams from each division make the playoffs, so basically the whole season is just a fight not to finish last.

Which is why they shouldn't play so many pointless games. Stop playing games on Wednesday and stop the teams from playing eachother like 4 times

Yeah 4 times is quite a thing to do :o fans might switch off coz of that.

i suppose Wednesday games would be successful if there were no conference system in the first place.

when the league gets to 20+ is when the MLS should think about conferences. But their ALL STAR series is a great idea! I hope the new Australian league does that! :)

Bruce Arena is acting gay.
Arena has tried to keep his roster a secret for as long as possible. Unlike the buildup before most international matches, the U.S. Soccer Federation decided not to release the names of the players selected for this game.

Word began to leak out as players were released from their clubs, but hardly anyone knew the actual roster until most of the team arrived here Sunday.

"Why do we need to release the roster?" Arena said. "We know what the roster is. We're the only ones who need to know. We don't see any value in it."

Beasley's trip...
Beasley's journey was perhaps the longest. He played a road match Saturday for his new club, PSV Eindhoven, scoring the final goal in a 5-2 victory over RBC Roosendaal. His alarm went off at 6:30 a.m. Sunday. The train was running late, so he took an hour-long taxi ride to Amsterdam for the nine-hour flight to Miami.

Does anyone know the reason why the Galaxy fired Schmid?
These are some reasons that I've heard of (in the newspaper today):

- Preference of certain players (Sasha Victorine and Peter Vagenas)
- Forced Mauricio Cienfuegos into retirement
- Not giving any opportunities to Latinos (Antonio Martinez, Diego Serna, Marvin Quijano, Memo Gonzalez)
- Losing control of certain players (Carlos Ruiz and Jovan Kirovski)

He ate 'Chivas' Martinez. Why do you think we haven't heard of him in awhile? How else do you explain Martinez' sudden disappearance after he was traded to the Galaxy?

Manchester Utd. has just loaned American U-21 player Kenny Cooper to Portuguese SuperLiga club Academica for the upcoming season. Do you guys have any info on him, all I know is that he's a forward who's been capped for the USA youth teams and was a reserve at Man. Utd. Did he have any experience playing in MLS before going to Manchester?
