i just heard that lebron james will be invited to replace kobe bryant on the team as the shooting guard, seeing as how kobe will not make it to the olympics. man, talk about being on cloud 9... that guy is 19 years old and already has pretty much everything he wants. an olympic invite...his first year. most players play their entire lives and are not even considered. crazy.

Actually the Olympic team is a bit of a joke right now. Half the players they have tried to get have turned them down. I mean Richard Jefferson is one the team. Jefferson is a nice player but is he worthy of being on an olympic team. No. Most players in the NBA don't care about the Olympics. Some do but most don't. If James doesn't accept his invite than the USOC will probably try and get Cherokee Parks or Christain Lattner or Eric Montross or some other overhyped ACC center.
true but most of the players who have turned it down have good reasons. ray allen is having a child, vince is getting married, and also many players have been playing through the season, and now the playoffs, and their bodies are riddled with injuries and fatigue. they dont get time to spend with their families, so i find it plausible that they dont want to play in the olympics. however, i would consider it an honor if they were to name me to an olympics team for example. no the team is not even close to having the best players, but i wouldnt consider the current team bad.

New rumor I just heard. Dallas trades Antoine Walker to Orlando for Grant Hill and the #1 Pick (if Orlando gets the #1 pick). Dallas gets the physical presence they have always lacked in Emeka Okafor (and still have Jamison, so losing Walker isn't really bad), and Orlando get a proven star to go with T-Mac. Plus even if Antoine doesn't work out his contract expires after this year, so they can go out and find another free agent at that price, or a couple.

Trading the no.1 pick (prolly) and a huge contract (they only have to pay 20% of it if i rember corretly) for Fatoine Walker just to get more capspace is insane.
Boston's GM said that the best packet he could get for Walker was LaFrentz+Welsch. After this mediocre season of him his trade value probably didn't increase.
Man, the Magic would suck even more. Juwan Howard, Antoine Walker and Mr "my team sucks so I'm injured" McGrady in one team. haha
As a Mavs fan I like the deal.

Yeah, but not everyone is in love with Emeka Okafor of Dwight Howard. If you can get capspace to sign a superstar next summer to pair with T-Mac, and have a potential All-Star for the time being, why not? Danny Ainge is a moron, i personally wouldn't have traded 'toine for Welsch and LaFrentz; I mean, this is the east, and you made the playoffs WITHOUT 'toine (a potential all-star).

I'm not suprised at all that we got sweeped by the Pacers though I am suprised the team made it so far...
Just think if the team had managed to hold Walker, gotten Ricky Davis from that Beattie-Eric Williams trade and gotten Chucky Atkins from the 3 way trade? The team would have been soooo much better

walker sucks... why are people excited? he plays the PF or the SF, and he sucks at both. all he knows is how to throw up 3s, and if he doesn't have the ball he cant do anything... unless he magically improves this will not help orlando... they would be better sticking with okafor.

Walker was ok when he played for Boston, now he's crap.
the only reason he was remotely ok while playing with boston is because pierce demanded so much attention from opposing defenders that it left walker so ******* open at the 3 point line that he kept shooting and shooting untill he racked up points. look at his field goal %... it tells everything.

His great passer for PF and he can rebound too...you can't say his bad player becoz he shoots mad...He can play.....and OK I take it back..his not great player...his ok player
he is an okay player. he can rebound some, but he has no shot, he cant do anything off the dribble, and needs someone else to run the show so he can get open. i generaly dislike him, simply because he does settle too much for the 3. also, if you look at this season, as soon as nelson changed the game play a bit, his play fell off, he could not adjust, and his minutes were cut drastically in favor of the rookies.
