Ballsy decision by Klinnsman, probably gonna backfire as you have no hope in hell of making it out of the group

Come on!
We're talking about soccer, not tennis. It's a team with 23 players.
I like Donovan, he's a great player, I think it's a bad decision too.
But what I actually saw : USA can win without Donovan.

Every teams have the exact same chance to make it out of the group.
We will see what happen tuesday the 17.

Atlanta beat Salt Lake, the Cosmos beat the Red Bulls, and Carolina "beat" Chivas. The latter saw a shootout where the teams combined to miss five consecutive penalties. Not a good night for MLS though, ouch. That Cosmos win was a straight up beatdown too, 3-0.

Nah, Open Cup dates. Some MLS managers were pissed about them because the league is supposed to be on break (they actually played earlier this week though).

The USSF thought it was a good idea...probably because they're the USSF.

Colorado 1-2 Atlanta.

There were seven red cards in this game, some for coaches (plus some player apparently got sent off twice). It ended with Colorado having ten men against Atlanta's eight for 20 or so minutes. Bonus: Atlanta was being coached by a defender because their manager (Eric Wynalda!) and assistant manager got sent off in the fracas. There were nine (officially seven) minutes added on. Also, Wynalda got into a cussing fit with a fan.

Philadelphia beat the Cosmos, and the Railhawks beat the Galaxy.

Our NASCAR track is hosting a watch party for USA-Belgium on their massive television. I'm not sure it's possible to find anything more American than NASCAR and a super TV.
