 I could never agree more with a Chivas fan. We have grown, and to say this wasn't significant is just plain ignorant. Look at the team we put on the field...

---Osorio---Galindo---Salcido---

Some might have hear of Salcido, but the other two are revalations
I wouldn't say that Osorio is a revalation, he's been around for a while now. I've always considered him one of our best defenders over the past couple of years. Defense and goalkeeping won't be a problem for us for a while with the players we've got back there, I just worry about what we'll do going forward because we only have a select few in terms of talented youngsters for the future.

Yeah, i've been following figueroa over the last year.

What a player! I really hope he can overtake Crespo for the WC. (Not a chance, but I would love to see him as a starter)

Remember, this was a player who had flopped at Birmingham. I think Argentina should play a formation that suits the players. They have three talented strikers in Crespo, Figueroa and Saviola. So much attacking potential. :O

Hildebrand will be the goalie against Argentina, Lemon will play in the semis and Kahn in the final/third place match.

This would strenghten his chances to make the WC squad.

Even if he saved 5 pens he would sit on the bench in the following games.

We apologize for keeping the yellow too long
Yellow Card
Placente and that guy Demichilis (can' t spell or pronounce his name) should be given a go against the Germans. I would have thought that it'd be safer to go with Hildebrand in the semis and play Lehmann against Argentina.

Mexico has always been a rock in Brasil's shoe though. Its like Uruguay sort of. Except when it omes down to it, Brail is more likely to beat Mexico than Uruguay when it really matters.

well done Mexico......good game .Why cant people just admit that the days of great Brazilian sides have gone? The team is packed with some very average players who perform quite well in their respective leagues, but put them outside their leagues and they stink.Kaka....what is all the fuss about this guy?...same with Adriano, one shooting foot, his left ,his right is only good for standing on,that is not a world class striker.Robhino is still young but thats not an excuse any more for being mediocre. The defence is absolute crap, and how does a talentless guy like Roque Jnr make the squad let alone get the captains armband? You might want to find excuses for losing against Mexico, and Argentina and all the other dreadful performances during the WC qualifiers, but the truth is that the team is full of some very average players.Just because they were born in Brazil does not make them great. Why is it blasphemy to admit the truth.I remember the fantastic Brazilian sides that would steamroller over any team in the world,a team full of talent ,dazzling skills and great goals. This team is nothing like that, its a shame but there it is.Apart from Ronaldinho and maybe Ronaldo,i wouldn't be in a hurry to see any of the others at my club. Its not enough to say that Brazil always struggle in games that do not matter but they play well when it does matter.Every national game is important.Pride is at stake.Brazilian sides in the past gave 100% every single time they took the field but not any more.Every game mattered. The talent is not coming through like it used to.Its sad because the world used to watch Brazil to see how the game should be played. Not any more.Maybe the fact that the players are spread all over Europe is a factor, whereas in the past, all the players all played in Brazil.Maybe the European style of football takes something away from them, and makes them more like the rest of our National teams. All i can say is ,they no longer impress me.Individually or as a team.Sorry, thats just how i feel. The myth is no longer a reality.

Brazil won the world cup using this team:

9 Ronaldo, coming from a biiig injury, fat and slow,
10 Rivaldo, after a very sucky season in Barcelona, even Barça fans wanted him out!
11 Ronaldinho, the Ronaldinho of PSG that Luis Fernandez benched many times

Basically i mean when Brazil won the world cup it was not using the best Rivaldo, Ronaldo or Ronaldinho.

The Legend
Roque isn't overated, he's just plain bad.

I'd start Cygan as a lone defender before i played Roque Junior teamed with anyone.

Hendrik

Roque Junior is solid. Not worldclass, not that bad either.

Brazil has so many better defenders who can fill that position. Luisao, Juan, Cris, Bordon (!!!). :nape:
