great performance by the reds!

Xabi showed once again his class. the man hardly gave the ball away.
with xabi and gerrard back together we will be okay.

Biscan had a superb game, defence was rock solid.

when cisse came on me and my mates were screaming like little kids. :) glad too see him back. hopefully he will be ready to start vs chelsea in two weeks.

No Pressure At All!!

Just wanted to congratulate the Pool fans and let them know that there is no pressure on their team in the semi....

other than the fact that WORLD FOOTBALL's integrity and future relies on them beating a team which is eventually trying to buy its way to success...the whole world wants liverpool to win (except for some Asian ex-Man Utd fans for obvious reasons) because it'll show everybody that there's still hope for that small football club with limited resources and humble fans to make an impact for a change....

Congratulations Liverpoolians.

Just take note that if Milan are in the final, Milan will win the final (H)

Even with BATMAN on their side??????? :)

Great job by the lads. I almost passed out when Cannavaro hit the post with that header. Anyway, i guess Chelsea spanked us so much this season that this time we will end up beating them. Like Chelsea itself did agaisnt Arsenal last season : the same scenario. Arsenal beating Chelsea in every game and then at the CL getting eliminated by the Blues. With the difference that the Red team will prevail now, i hope. :$

Damn it the semis are two whole LONG weeks away. I cannot wait that long. :nape: I wonder if Cisse will be fully fit by then....he should be. Magic Rafa should give him a Preimership game before the semi final if he plans on using him at Stamford Bridge.

Cisse said he is not ready to start any matches yet...so if he makes an apperance in the premiership then it will probably be from off the bench...
btw...how did cisse look during the gave vs. juve? i missed the last 1/4 of an hour (the game was a delayed broadcast here in Australia and i couldnt help myself checking the result on the net...and then i had had 2 go 2 school) ne ways....so how was he?

Thanks for the support and I think that we can beat 'em. I would hardly class Liverpool as a small footballl club though. 18 domestic titles and 4 European Cups makes Liverpool the most successful English side in history. On the financial side the club is the eighth richest in the world. Since the end of last season the clubs transfer spending has been (aprox):

Cisse : 14 million pounds
Xabi Alonso: 10.75 million pounds
Luis Garcia : 6 million pounds
Josemi: 2.4 million pounds
Morientes: 6.3 million pounds

Total Spending in under 12 months : 39.45 million pounds.

Whoa that is alot. I knew we had about 40 million in the kitty but i never relised how much we have spent. We'll be needing more to get good subs for next season though. because a team like this....
Dudek
Finann Carragher Hyypia Riise
Garcia Gerrard Alonso Kewell
Morientes Cisse
subs&backups-carson/kirkland(what are we gonna do with one of them?)
Traore
Le tallec
Hamann
pelle(if he stays)
Baros
biscan(prob gonna leave)
Smicer(prob leavin)
Nunez(aint good enough)
Warnock
Pongolle, mellor and all the other youngens

As we can see we dont' really need another striker but if pelle doesnt stay we'll prob have traore as backup CB or buy a new one but Hyypia, no way he can be replaced while playing like this. Probably a winger to, nunez aint doin so good and smicer might be leaving. Going to be sad to see Biscan leave after such a great season. Although our subs is still pretty strong with Carson/kirkland, traore, hamann and Baros, we should be looking for someone to fill in the 5th sub spot. I dont think the other are good enough, maybe pongolle, mellor, warnock or le tallec but theyre still abit young.

Cisse never got on the ball much but when he did his running seemed fine. I would give him 20mins vs spurs on Saturday,

He was gonna skin one juve player before he obstructed Cisse and gave away FK.

I think Igor will be offered a new deal. It will just depend whether he minds being a squad player or not.

Baros is off! If the right $$$ is offered, Rafa will be happy too sell and Milan would want a move.

According to manager Rafael Benitez, Djibril Cisse is brimming with confidence after making his long awaited return to action in Turin on Wednesday.
The French striker played the last 15 minutes of Liverpool's heroic goalless draw against Juventus at the Stadio Delle Alpi and Benitez has revealed that he's in good shape ahead of tomorrow's Premiership clash with Tottenham.

"He (Cisse) has worked hard to come back," says the Reds boss. "At times it was difficult and frustrating for him and for us. He trained very well yesterday. He scored a lot of goals and has a lot of confidence. He is always happy and for team spirit this is good."

Benitez did not say whether Cisse would figure against Spurs or not. Fernando Morientes is available for selection after being ineligible for the midweek Champions League tie but with Milan Baros still suspended there is every chance he could be named among the substitutes again.
