Carlsberg have been the clubs' sponsors for 13 years but it had been expected that the deal would not be renewed this summer, with electronics company LG one of several names linked with Liverpool.

However, sources have indicated that a deal between Liverpool and Carlsberg is close to being agreed. It's said an announcement will be due shortly.

I know where you got this information from. ;) It does sound really exciting, but at the same time Real Madrid and Chelsea are also in talks with his agent/father.

I dunno about Edu.. if Hamann leaves and Rafa wants to have 5 in midfield with a lone striker he could be good:
Edu + Alonso
Garcia + Gerrard + Kewell

but I guess Rafa won't have only one striker except for away euro matches...

I had to go out with some friends and couldn't follow the match but I'm glad to know Cisse scored twice... that'll give him a morale boost for the final and hopefully he'll score two more to give Liverpool the trophy
