I don't think a replacement for Alonso is needed we have Hamann and Biscan to cover up.

what we need is CB, and a striker. andmaybe a GK but Dudek is doing quite good.

We were robbed. Mike Riley thought the Tiago handball was ball to hand :| How that works I don't know, its purely baffling. As for the Gallas on Pongolle incident, how that one can be seen as backing in is also crazy.

We can't say that if we had those decisions we would of won the game because you never know but they would have helped a hell of a lot.

Who deflected the goal by the way?

In response to what was said about 2 pages ago and what's been said about Biscan covering, we are in trouble...

Southampton plan to buy Henchoz and Biscan together as a package for £1 million apparently. If we sell them, we WILL be in trouble.

I reckon had we got those penalties, it would have ended 2-2. Conceding one penalty makes you think, conceding two would have been a real kick up the arse and started Chelsea going.

we might get Le Tallec in january hope he does good if he come. right now I would even bring back Cheyrou instead of putting Diao.

but the usual substitude for Alonso is Hamann

didi might be the usual substitute for xabi but who'se going to replace didi? the wise thing to do would be to call back le tallec. cheyrou is a wide left player, and god knows we've got enough of those. what we need is someone who can play in the center of midfield and someone who can play up front. le tallec can do both. ;)

i've heard rumours that biscan will be going to southampton along with henchoz. it would be a shame to let him go, as he's been a different player under rafa. there really isn't space for him though. there might be space for him now that xabi is out, but what about in 6 weeks?

baros will indeed be fit for the norwich match. more goals for him i hope.

em, no.

nobody else has done it the same as chelsea have. if they win the league theyve bought it.

i just noticed the ref has a fly emirates sponser on his shirt... hmmm :p
Shut up.

Do the hours upon hours those players have trained as children, and as pros mean nothing because they now play at a club Roman Abramovich purchased? Go back to when other clubs purchased big, do the maths on the value of the average player, inflation, how much a pound was worth and plenty of clubs have done it.

A prime example of a club purchasing big is Blackburn in 1994/95, doesn't mean those players didn't earn it. Now enough of your crap. Fergie broke the transfer record 5 times before Man Utd won the title and we know Fergie is a class manager after his time at Aberdeen, and Mourinho has done similar things at Porto and Chelsea, well not similar but links and comparisons can be made on how these two managers started their careers.

Anyway this is the Liverpool thread so enough of that, back to the game and Liverpool.

The game at Anfield was most tension filled game I have watched this season. Unlike at Arsenal were I felt we had chances and could score Liverpool pilled pressure upon pressure and into the final 15 in the first half it was a red tide.

Cech made some game changing saves and if some of those saves weren't made I felt you guys would of won. The Tiago handball is a touchy subject, I can see Liverpool’s case for a penalty but I will say no more :). What else can I say? Joe Cole was a great change, changed angles in the game and made the break through, Hyypia played superb for you guys on Eidur and Drogba and Liverpool is definitely on the up.

Hope Alonso gets well soon.

Good Luck for the rest of the season.

6 weeks till he gets well. :kader: thanks for the well wishes though, its nice to get something other than stick from a chelsea fan.:) you guys don't seem to need more luck, you've got it all. you've put together a good squad (although i tend to think some are cheats) and deserve to win the title, which i think you will.

On the Alonso front, he could even be back in a month. It's a minor chip which, fingers crossed, shouldnt pose too much of a complication. The way he kept stamping his leg after the tackle wouldnt have helped but he's 'ard, Xabi is. (H)

Clever way of beatin the censor there Ewan. I don't agree with what you said though. Chelsea are from West London, so they're not cockneys. The rest stands. :p
