Rooney is an amazing footballer. He will be a World legend one day. This was his third, yes THIRD start for Man U this season, and considering the cruel way he was dumped from the World Cup and add to that his 3 game suspension, he is expected to take a little time to get back into it. As for not being as good as he thinks he is? He is actually better than he thinks he is.
Anyway how the hell do you know what Rooney thinks? I think you meant that YOU don't think Rooney is as good as he thinks he is.
As a Man U fan you should be giving support to your best player not letting your personal issues get in the way of that.

He has often at times saved matches for this team, and carried the team for large parts of the season last season, anybody deciding to make judgements based on 3 peformances from this season is an idiot.

There were also threads about the critisism of Carrick (despite not playing enough games yet). Even though it is hostile there , I love some of the posts which has passion and which rightfully says about what is happening to the club right now.

Mine has to be the 2004 champion's league loss to porto. We should have won that game with scholsey's disallowed goal.

Here are some of my most painful defeats;
1: 2004-5 FA Cup Final: Absolutely battered Arsenal and rained shots on them for 120 minutes (Arsenal didn't get a shot till 125th minute) Then the jammy b*stards won on penalties.
2: AS Monaco - UCL 1996. A thunderbolt from Treziguet clocked at 94mph bombed us out of the Quarter final.
3: Borussia Dortmund - UCL Semi Final 1997, United robbed by eventual winners.
4: United 3 - 4 Real Madrid - UCL Quarter final 2002/3. Ripped apart at the Bernabeu and then an epic duel at Old Trafford, great football from both sides and a Ronaldo hat-trick and then D. Beckham esq steps off the bench with 2 himself.
5: FC Barcelona 4 - 0 United - UCL 1994. The tragedy was that United's best 1994 XI would have matched the Catalans, however the "three foreigner's rule" robbed United of several key players and shorn of their top stars United were made to bow down to Stoitchkov Romario and co.

I think the game will be remembered for Ronaldo scoring a hattrick at Old Trafford and then being clapped off by United fans.Fernandez said:We won 4-3. Ronaldo hat-trick for Real, Hierro OG, Ruud and twice from Becks for us. I'm not sure if Ruud did score though. The game is to be remembered though for Barthez's poor goalkeeping.
