Netherlands had good team and players in that year ... that elimination was really unfortunate especially after Euro 2000 ... but this year team and players really weak and mediocre level ... Sneijder still being your best player says is all ...

Robben is our best player, by a mile. But he only played 3 of the 10 qualification matches. Had he been fit the whole way, I think we might've actually made it.

Not that we'd deserve it or anything. As I said I've never seen Oranje this bad. The way we defended agaisnt the Czechs was just pathetic and we couldn't come up with a half-decent chance until it was already way too late. It is telling for the state of Dutch football ATM which is very worrysome, to say the least. Van Gaal's realistic approach and a fair share of luck last year at the World Cup managed to gloss over the bigger problems. But two incapable head coaches in a row have shown how bad things really are.

We, as a footballing nation, are going to have to do a lot of thinking on how we're gonna improve. If there's 24 European nations competing in the EURO's, we should be one of them. It's so pathetic and embarrasing we didn't qualify and not even deserve to qualify either.
