about the new format of portuguese leagues, the only right fact is that the 2 main championships (SuperLiga and Liga de Honra) will have 16 clubs with 2 promotions and relegations. Only 2 non-league clubs (from 2ºDivisão will be promoted to the Liga de Honra.
Many regional associations are pressing the football league to split the Liga de Honra in 2 sections (North and South) with 16 clubs each. Personally i think it's the best solution.

In any case, it was a great win and I really think Porto has a good chance to get 3 points in Madrid...especially after seeing the Marseille-Real game this afternoon. Real Madrid won, but they really didn't look like anything special, neither team did actually...

About FCPorto - Partizan not much to say! We proved to be better than those guys, even with such a pale exhibition they didnt show much more and we manage to beat them without much effort! McCarthy scored 2 goals Nuno Gomes'style (that is with an empty goal), shamefull that attiude of Costinha, JCosta and Maniche forcing the ref to show them the yellow card, and ridiculous the commentators attitude laughing of all that! I really wish they were punished! Dont they remenber that Figo case?

2nd stage here we go!!

I dont really think we'll have much chances there, cause we lack good forwards, but let's see what we get! Until there let's make a "friendly" game in Madrid, and with so many absences i hope we dont get crushed!!

Anyhow, good luck to Sporting and Benfica....I'm a little concerned about Benfica's game though. I think we can have a lot of problems defending free kicks and corners against the tall Norweigians..

I was just looking at the UEFA ranking and noticied that if Portugal had 4 more teams in EU competitions giving us 8 like England, we would be the best futebol country in europe just double our current score. At least next year 2004/2005 we have 7 teams: 3 CL(2 direct?,1 qual), and 4 Uefa cup

Porto and Sporting with a good draw but The lions must be careful with setubal. Benfica with a tough travel to Coimbra to play against the historic Académica.
