What a game last night!

Rio Ave 3-3 Belenenses.

Rio Ave was getting away with it, winning 3-0, but the Belem team did a huge comeback. What a terrific game! Good to see our "small" teams are starting to play attacking football!!
Congratulations on both! This way we may see more peope attending the games!

Anyway guys, we play Braga in less than 48 hours... I'm dead worried. They sound like an excellent side who can play a bit, whereas all we do is hack the hell out of better players and a punt up to our big striker De Vries. :$:p The game is being played away from our home, so there's an advantage already to them.. :( I'm trying really hard to go to Braga for the return leg, but oh well, the money just isn't there. :(

I think Maritimo could take Rangers though, here's hoping! (H)(Y)

Diego has arrived last month. Made a few practises with the team, and is 19. He played bad today but that doesn't mean is a Roger... You will have to swallow those word sooner or later...

Seitaridis made a great game (you probably listen to much to the Portuguese TV guys:P:P ) He defended well and was always supporting the attack. He's a great player and I can't ask him to do more than what he did today ...

And you seem very happy about this draw... when do Benfica play in the CL? I haven't seen the announcements in the History channel yet... (j/k, but you desearved this one ;) :D)

But really... what a poor game Porto did... this worries me... :(

This promises to be a good tie. I personally think that Braga and Hearts are similiar teams. Both usually end the league in good positions ( Behind the so called "giants"), have quality players and loyal supporters. If they are in a good day, its difficult even for the big teams to beat them at their ground. Braga players may have better technic and flair but Hearts have more european competitions experience, better physical condition and unbreakable will and spirit. I think it will be close and prolly decided in the 2nd leg in Braga.
If you can get the money, you should really try and come to Braga. The city is lovely, ancient one and full places and monuments to visit. But the best part is that the beer is pretty cheap and that you get to see the match in the "Municipal de Braga" stadium, who is one of the most beautiful stadiums in Europe. You know that one, with the rocks :p .
Good matches to see, i will watch both.

Municipal de Braga is just plain dull :( :(

i was really sad when i went there because i was expecting a nice stadium and that one was really a bad venue.

Parasol you can tell us how many Benfiquistas and Marroquinos were in the stadium when you came to the pedreira? Maybe 80% x 20%? :kader:

i dunno, but probably 70% - 30%, the bancada dos socios was pretty full, and some of them showed that "benfica odeio-te" scarf to us... but it didn't happened as it happened this weekend to the porto guys, ah, well, i think i got an explanation for that, is because we won that game 3-0 and porto drew 1-1 :)



best of luck to guimarães in the main game of the season for you guys ;)

Diego=19 years old, has been here for 1 month, played 2 1/2 games.

Roger=26-27 years old, 3 seasons in Benfica(be it he was in and out) didn't do ****.

when roger came he had 22 years old... and yes Diego is a flop in europe. this typical "pretty" brazilian midfielders never fit in european football or take to long to adapt, except the ones that have an european style (capacity of shock, agressive to recover the ball when their team don't have it, and don't hide from the game like Deco or Kaká). the typical brazilian "tecnicistas" are used to have kilometers of space to play in Brazil...
