That dribble from Miccoli was outstanding. Miccoli right now is on a fantastic form, I hope he can't keep it until Sporting...

Better than that drunk guy is Paulo Bento "Gato version"..."O meu Sportem?

sorry for the major off-topic but has any of you dudes ever watched "Vai Tudo Abaixo", aired on SIC Radical?
I'm watching a couple of episodes right now and can't help laughing my ass off, it's ******* hilarious (Y)

Hey, no I haven't. Thanks for the tip! (H)

About immigrants playing for our NT: I got no probs with it, as long as they are genuine about it and really feel Portuguese at heart. Pretty much in the situation Paulo mentioned he was in and Pepe claims to be.

---------------------------------------------

Haven't heard the reasons why Carvalhal left, but he sure seemed like a pussy for doing it. Come on, can't take the pressure of being in a bigger club!? A couple bad results and that's it!?

yeah I watch that show, didn't know how it was called.

I'm a huge fan of Jel, loved his sketches in Revolta dos Pasteis de Nata.

this one is not with him but it's legendary :rockman:

Jel is an amazing actor, never loses composure and that's probably why I like his stuff better than things like Gato Fedorento.

nah most are from Revolta dos Pasteis which is a great program in RTP2, one of the better programs on TV, talkshow with good guests and class sketches.

He used to work for them but as he was much more talented than the rest Sic Radical gave him his own show.

O maior do Mundo!

Wow, congratulations!!!
Now, everybody will see Benfica's name side by side with these ones!

And the 13 millions Euros/year? Are you interested?;)

By the way:

Benfica has 160 000 official supporters making the number the highest in the world. A Benfica supporter pays 156€/year. Real Madrid 143€/year, Barcelona 142€/year, Man Utd/Chelsea 62-40€/year. I think that's relevant.

this makes me proud man, and i know you guys will probably make fun of this or whatever but i honestly don't care, because i'm so damn proud,

our name is up there as the club with most "sócios" on earth, i mean we're up there in front of United and Barcelona, how f*cking great can that be for a club of such a small country like Portugal? How can Benfica move so much people, so much fans all over the world? Sometimes people don't realise how big we are(even we Benfiquistas sometimes), this is just a reminder and another proof.

if only we could fill the stadium, I'd agree with you.

MLS and Serie B teams have higher attendances than some of our games.

I can't understand how people don't mind paying 150+€ a year and don't show up at the stadium.

It's great to have so much socios, and I'm proud but it still pains to see the stadium so empty. Even in the game vs Celtic we could not fill it.

Filipower

Bunburyist
one word: Eusébio

that made most part of the socios form the 1960s till now, the rest was - i admit - smart moves recently made by the SAD such as the Kit de novo sócio...

well, i agree with you on that, but i guess that maybe could be like some sort of an image of our country current situation, people don't have the possibilities to go to all games, either that, or i really don't know,

all i know is that if i live in Lisbon, or around, i wouldn't miss a game.

Eusebio? Lmao, he's the great symbol of the club but he isn't bigger than Benfica itself.

wonder why Beira Mar don't have lots of socios too, he played for them as well :funny:

why doesn't Sevilla or Napoli have more socios than us? They had Maradona...

Anyway we got like 50k or 60k new socios in like 3 years.

God no matter how much you win, lots of Porto fans still have a giant "dor de cotovelo" with anything related to Benfica. It's f*cking sickening.

games back to the weekend afternoons would help a lot, going to the stadium at a Sunday or Monday night is really hard for people that work.

That won't happen though because the Liga would lose money.
