Oh, and before slamming Postiga, don't forget he has a back injury and didn't practice all week. Was very surprised to see him on the pitch, which surely only happened because Pauleta is a dick.

Just saw the highlights from TV, Figo went really low this time. Some Estonian was just about to throw the ball into the game, Figo put his hand against the chest of the Estonian (god knows why) then suddenly Figo fell down with hands on the face. No one even touched him. Reminded me of what Rivaldo did the WC 2002...

yeah, Pauleta's done. I appreiciate everything he's done for us, but he's clearly past it. He should just transfer to Santa Clara for a season and call it quits. We badly need a "matador" and Postiga and Nuno Gomes aren't it either.. Virgo's right, I think Vaz Te should get a chance, he'll at least be no worse than the others, especially Pauleta who contributes nothing these days. Other than Vaz Te, I can't really think of another young striker that is NT material, Felipe Oliveira too maybe. Hugo Almeida is too one dimensional IMO, Varela seems pretty average, we lost Makukula (he sucked anyway..), so what do we do..

I know that when he said it he was referring to Figo but if comes with that crap that if Rivaldo plays 10 games baddly he wouldn't take him out of the team it's just ridiculous. but apart from Pauleta, Postiga or Nuno Gomes, who do we have left with experience to take that spot in our NT? almost every single striker in our league is foreigner, and the youngsters though with lots of potential, IMO still aren't material for the A NT.

I agree with the Vas Te petition.
bmpv666 is right, though: he has no international experience in the AA team. However, he has played his fair share of tough international games for the younger teams and what better time to get experience than getting called up by Scolari for the last, potentially easier, games of the qualifying?

give him some time, i believe he can do better for the NT... in the last two games, what happened was that: he played for 10 minutes only, in the first... and in the second game (when he substituted Pauleta), he rarely got the ball, as Portugal was playing a lukewarm football... Cristiano Ronaldo was the only player trying to put some turbo in the portuguese attack...
4 me, Postiga is definitely better than Pauleta, and should be a starter...

true, experience is important, but we really just need a guy to put the ball in the back of the net.. Pauleta has tons of experience but he contributes nothing these days. Experience or not, young or old, we need someone who can put away those easy chances. Such a waste to see guys like Ronaldo and Figo create wonderful plays only to have Pauleta miss in the end.
At this point, even putting in a guy like Ze Manuel, Sa Pinto, Joao Tomas, etc would be an improvement over Pauleta..

So with the world class midfield SLB is suppose to have Nuno Gomes scored 7 goals and Carlos Carneiro with a Gil Vicente midfield in half a season as first half he was deep in Guimarães bench left for dead for the hyped up Pistoleiro the Silva on loan from SCP, then behind Romeu, but he manages 7 goals and he isnt worth a look, and even lets say at least 5 goals of his were pure class with 2 amaizing back heel goals, yes he is a JOKEeeeeeeeeeeeeeee because if his name was hyped up like Nuno Gomes or maybe he had a brief stint in serieA he would be amaizing, again little kid dont try and teach me about 'futebol' kid.
