This Jurado kid sounds interesting but the fact he's like 173cm is such a turn off.. :( :D

I mean, big physical players have much more chances of success.

The best midfield in Europa maybe is Barça actually:

- Xavi = 168cm
- Iniesta = 175cm
- Deco = 174cm
- Giuly = 164cm
- Gio = 178cm

wow. this made me laugh:

Real Madrid director of football Benito Floro claims signing Mahamadou Diarra is not a priority for the capital club.

"Diarra is a good footballer," commented Floro to Marca. "But, sincerely, he is not of the level of Sergio Ramos, nor that of Javi Garcia, and to spend money on this player is not what Real Madrid needs."

hehehe if thats the case why arent Man U trying to buy Javi Garcia?
if it aint obvious by now that we neeeeeeeeed to fill the gap left by Makelele then we need a new Director of Football.

anyway back to the point at hand...Most men dont stop growing untill the age of 25, women 23. Check ur medical books for that one.

Big physical players / small Shifty*ble players...it dont really matter. all that matters is skill.

tall players make good as: DM's, and Keepers and Smaller players are better as Wingers and Attacking Midfielders. but remember the one rule that will always hold true (a quote from doodinho the great)........

There is an exception to every rule...

Except that rule.

Cause they don't even know he exist. One of the problems of Madrid in the last years has bee not relying in his youth system, closing the doors to great young prospects by signing 30 m € players who can, or cannot do the job.

I prefer a football director who risks with young players and fail than a one who signs stars and fail. Cause with young players we will never lose neither our identity nor our money. And if we have the best young system in Spain, why shouldn't we take profit of it?

I dont think he really means that J. Garcia is better, its just a better option to promote him instead of overpaying for Diarra. Seriously 30 M is too much and who knows, maybe Garcia is a good DM. I agree with face and Floro, I rather have Garcia come up from Castilla, I mean look at Mejia and to a lesser example Soldado. We have great players in from our youth teams, too bad we dont use them like we should.

Diarra is ok but not worth so much - same with Essien last year.

I'd give these "kids" a chance.

Personally I think Soldado should be promoted to the 1st team for good. In Summer hopefully Ronaldo/Raul will leave and he'll get chances together with Cassano and maybe a new striker.

He always looked lively when he played - it's really a shame.

Oh and yt23w, I read that Man Utd gave J. Garcia a pretty big offer that he turned down. :brow: All these guys ( Soldado, De la Red, Jurado and all ) need is a chance, too bad our board are too stupid to use them and instead just buy someone for a crapload of money.

i'd much rather see us promote from within instead of overspending on players

face, do you think javi garcia could contribute to the first team next season? He actually looked good in the little time he played last year, even though he was only 17 :jambo:

He and De La Red are pretty similar players, complete midfielders who can defend and attack. And yeah, he's actually improved a lot this year, mainly in the 2nd part of the season, and IMO more than De La Red has. Probably Javi Garcia would be more fitted for the DM position, because he has an impresive physic, though he also has a powerful shot that he uses whenever he has the chance.

But I think he still needs more experience to get get the jump to Primera, and due to his age we could keep him 1 or 2 more years in Castilla without him wanting to go out to a Primera club. Not that he lacks the quality, but it may be too much pressure for him atm, in such a demanding position.

IMO the only players that are ready psicologically to stay full time in the 1st squad and even be starters are Soldado, Jurado, De La Red and Arbeloa. But in order to be able to give them several play minutes next year we shouldn't buy 5 players... or if we do sell a lot of players too, to guarantee they actually play and don't be just bench warmers.

BTW dat thanks for the goal videos!

wow those were amazing goals man. :rockman: I hope to see most of those players from Castilla comin up to Real Madrid and playing next season. I haven't seen balboa in awhile, I even forget which match it was. They should get the opportunity to play with the Galacticos.

Hmm I did not think that they would be interested in him but if its true than he did infact turn them down.

Now Ronaldo wants to stay

face can you give more info on Arbeloa? I have heard a bit about him before but what type of defender is he? Like Mejia or a bit different? Also how is Balboa? from the game that he subbed in he looked really good.

Soldado and Jurado's goals :rockman: :lui: :O

About Balboa, you all were able to see his class at the begining of the season. However there's a big but... He only has 1 year of experience in 2ªB (he was promoted to Castilla from Real Madrid C the year they jump to 2ª) and half a year in 2ª (he has had a lot of physical problems in 2006). So IMO 1 more year in Castilla wouldn't do him any bad, though of course he could help the 1st squad when required.

About Arbeloa, yes, he's like Mejia (fast and allways well possitioned) but a bit taller (he isn't an specially good header though) and with much better dribbling. In fact he dribbles better than a lot of forwards I've seen, and he takes the ball up to the midfield to oxygenate the game several times. He's Castilla captain aswell, and very mature (sp?) despite his age.

Guti :nape: :)

That looks like something I would wear, pants, shoes and all, minus the hairstyle :(

And that Soldado goal was frigging awesome. Hang onto that kid and im positive he will be your next homegrown superstar/club hero a la Raul and Hierro

Wow that pic of Guti wasn't needed at all.

Oh and Socrates I was searching for the Zidane Jersey yesterday (the one with Zidane 2001-2006 that all the players wore on his last game at the Bernebeu). It was a horrendous replica tho and now its not even on the site. Have u found anything yet? :ewan:
