Baptista has been carrying the weight of the team with Sergio Ramos and Beckham. Becks will end up as the best provider of assists this season, above Ronaldinho, Petrov, Yeste and Joaquin. That suggests that he has done his job, unlike others. He will get his wish (a new two-year deal) and new colleagues - as Real Madrid and Ancelotti have cut into pieces the agreement they signed two-months ago.

The new coach will be down to the new chairman to be selected on the July 2, but it will be Ancelotti.

Some promise Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka, others Camacho and del Bosque. This summer the Bernabeu will be a flurry of ins and outs.

So IMO 1 more year in Castilla wouldn't do him any bad, though of course he could help the 1st squad when required.
Yeah, I agree. He could need another year of work and he should be given opportunities next year so that we can bring him up slowly. I've read articles where he was discussed as the best prospect coming from the C-team, and from the 1 (maybe 2) times that I saw him he looks very good. Dribbler, playmaker, RIGHT WINGER!!! Exactly what we need... (next year)

About Arbeloa, In fact he dribbles better than a lot of forwards I've seen, and he takes the ball up to the midfield to oxygenate the game several times.
Again, WORD. He's been in the Castilla team for so long I don't understand how he wasn't given the opportunity before Mejia. Either way he looks like he could be with the team next year, playing RB. (H)

I don't think Cicinho will play that many games at RB next year, he's a natural winger and winger doesn't neccesarily mean he has to defend. Arbeloa, I think would be the better option behind Salgado. (Y)

More canteranos to the 1st team! :rockman:

Seggie, I have not found anything yet as I have been really busy lately. I might check more into it a bit later.

Behind Salgado? I dont know if Salgado will be here next season. Cicinho has been very good when he attack as a RB, he just needs to learn more of the defensive side of being a RB than he will be good. He did not look so great playing as a winger the last couple of times and the RB seems to suit him more.

Do you know of any way to find out how most of his assist are made? Like how many from open play, corner, fks, etc? My opinion of Becks is still the same, he is a great player but his style does not suit ours so we should consdier getting a RW. Not to mention he is not getting any younger.

^i agree on both your points

i like becks too, but i dont know if his style is a great fit for us. He still seems out of place so to speak.

about cicinho, he is better as a RB. I heard he likes having the space to push forward when playing at right back as compared to being a winger, much the same way roberto carlos has always played at lb instead of further up. Cicinho is certainly capable of playing as a winger, but i think he is strongest at RB. I have to think salgado is gone after this season, he's not that effective anymore.

For me Beckham has show he play with his all. He still has the skill to make great crosses but it's true that he not getting any younger.

It's Official. there will be elections on July 2

Presidential candidates:

Francisco Barroso;

The current president of the Cobeña, a team from the third division of Madrid, has emerged as a Presidential candidate. He told a show on Cadena Ser; "If I am elected president, I will continue the policy of Florentine Pérez, I will sign Christiano Ronaldo, Kaká and Van Basten (as coach)."

Fernando Martin;

We know all about him. He wants Diarra and Henry.

Lorenzo Sanz;

A former President, he wants to run for the elections and, if successful, has promised to bring back Vicente Del Bosque to play some sort of role along with Fernando Hierro, but wants Capello as coach it seems. Has shown his interest in signing Riquelme to replace Zidane.

Juan Palacios;

A local business man, also wants to bring back Vicente Del Bosque.

Ramón Calderón;

Wants Getafe coach Bernd Schuster as the new coach. He wants to add 3 or 4 "un-named" players to the squad and will appoint Miguel Ángel Portugal as the man to recommend new signings and Manolo Sanchís as director of football.

Carlos Sainz;

Another candidate that has promised the return of Del Bosque, also wants to add Cesc Fabregas and Xabi Alonso.

Villar Mir;

nothing has been said about him yet.

face, if you know more, then please enlighten us. :)

Roberto Carlos say's he's leaving this summer.

Shame that Carlos is leaving! IMO he is the best LB ever!! But he is 33 years old so its time to move on and he understands it! It's a shame he didnt say it earlier so that he could have got a farewell from the Bernabue.

We now need a new LB for sure!

Haha it's hard to add further details to your complete info, good work ;) From what I've heard
Florentino could be after Villar Mir, and he's thinking of joining Carlos Sainz in a compound candidature.

I hope this is not true for two reasons. First one being that I would not want Florention or his board still in power and second because I have agreed with Sainz with just about everything he has said. I think that he is the favorite right now from what he has been saying and I want just him to win it.

those candidates sounds uninspired

i mean bringing back del bosque is not going to solve anything. it's a step in the right direction, but we need to give whoever is the new coach say over signings. The president shouldn't say who we need to buy

and please no robben, talented, but he is a diver :|

Hahaha, sorry, but this is ridiculous, and...impossible. Milan and United are sure as hell not going to sell those two, it doesn't matter how much we offer. :rolleyes:

Chelsea invented diving, as well as paying money for players and longball tactics. Hope that clears things up (Y)

haha, come on guys be easy, not like we have angels on our team. My problem with this is the price ( a problem with just about every player really ), does he really want to leave?, and is he an injuryprone type player?

BTW if its true that Gallas wants to leave Chelsea and Sheva might go to Chelsea. We should get Gallas ( or Carvalho if he is still wanting out ) and give Milan Ronaldo. (Y) Gallas or Carvalho, Ramos, Mejia, and Arbeola for next season.
