i'd definitely sell beckham this season, the time is right

he's getting older and his style doesnt mesh well with our team

Agreed. He doesn't seem fit with Madrid anymore. You can see it in the games that he played, the dissatisfaction that he had with the players was always there. He's a good player and all and I like how he plays in those long ball situations, but I don't think Madrid want him and it looks to me like he doesn't want to stay in Madrid. I hope he does to prove the critics wrong, and I hope he does well in the WC to make sure he's gonna stay, give him a last chance.

that Beckham article is ridiculous....
Beckham sucked this year....He cant defend, and his passes arent at all what Madrid need. he cant short pass, something Madrid needs. Everytime he gets the ball he LAUNCHES somewhere up the field, and hopes someone runs to it. Madrid never dominate possession with Beckham because he just boots the ball upfield everytime. I love Beckham, he's a good guy, and he tries, but he's a bit like Raul. try try try for no result.

Ronaldo scored 14 gols in 21 games, that would make him a God comapred to Beckham in this article.

Why doesn't Becks fit into Madrid... ?
Why shouldn't Madrid want him anymore ?
Why wouln't he want to stay?

Madrid won't change to a whole new system just like that... + did he do badly in the current...

He still is a good player and for their marketing he's priceless.

Becks stated he wants to stay about 5000 times now. He just had his best ever Season in Spain.

oh and Will just take off your "anti-inglese/beckham & Ronaldo is a holly angel" glasses for once...

Did you think about it, that he may gets asked by the Coaches to play these balls, because the team overall is to weak to do it otherwise ?

What has Ronaldo done, appart from doing 14 goals (which is a nice level tbf) , but most of which surely were Assisted by Becks, Zizou and Co...

Defending (well it's not his business, but standing just upront neither), Running around, creating space, closing down the opposition in midfield and upfront, getting his leg in for the team ?

NOPE to everything above

He sulked, played "injuried", was injuried, was whinning and resting himself for the Summer.

I know Becks is not the player he once was, and he isn't Mr Perfect, but damn he had his best ever Season for Madrid, getting praised by teammates and managers alike.
so FFS give him at least some credit!

****

I thought Laudrup wants to take a year long break from football ?

My point about Beckham: he's a great player, with great touch, sacrifice and stamina, but he doesn't fit Madrid style. Why? We need side midfielders that know how to keep the ball in his feet (not just running backwards when being pressed), dribble, reach the goal line and break into the area, cause our strikers can't head.

Nuno

I gotta agree with face on this one. We basically need another Figo. My dream is that one day Cristiano Ronaldo will play for Real Madrid. For now we should really sign Joaquim.

I agree, BB thats why he does not fit. Instead of the lunch a long ball up front which 8/10 times goes to either the keeper or the defender gets its. He should go to England where he suits the game more imo. We want like Nuno said another Figo, C. Ronaldo, Joaquin, Cani ( he could have done it ), J. Navas, Ribery, and etc.

BTW Marca is reporting that Floro has Navas and Joaquin in mind...either one will do fine for me.

Hi, my first post on the forum.

I'm from Brazil and I have been following Real Madrid for the last couple of years. One of the first things I noticed on these forums is how europeans view football different from brazilians. It's sometimes really opposite views.

Anyway, about my expectations for next year:

Hire one or two DMs, it doesn't have to be an expensive one. There isn't many exceptional DMs on the market. Mascherano certainly isn't of them, by the way.

With Zidane and Roberto Carlos leaving, there is a problem: there is no replacement for Zidane in the world right, so the team should aim to hire one person to replace, they should concentrate and hiring a productive player, even if not as talented.
Roberto hasn't been well for years, it won't be a big loss.

The team should also get rid of: Raul (doesn't perform, too much influence), Salgado and Cassano (done deal).

From the young ones, only Mejia deserves a spot right away. Soldado may have a future, but it's not up for it yet.

that's a explanation I can accept. The current Attack doesn't fit to Becks and the otherway around they same.

So either move Becks around on the pitch, because he won't be sold unless somebody stomps out the big money or actually get some strikers which can head. (Ramos and Woodgate are the only decent headers in the 1st Team which is sad)

Ben-
Beckham is a great footballer, but not in Madrid. The guys cant dribble, and he goes backwards 1/2 times he gets the ball...the other 1/2 he launches it into to somewhere up the field..

it's interesting that on another forum I would have to defend Beckham because everyone there thinks he sucks @$$

i know becks doesnt fit in our style of playing...
but if we actually build a team.... specially focusin on becks qualities...
with good headers, runners, dribblers...
this madrid will be unstopable...

but it just doesnt work with becks and ronaldo....
if we had to change some1 ... for me that would be ronaldo

with zidane gone... we will have a more balanced team to build from
this would be my dream team

--------------casillas-------------
-cicinho--ramos----carvalho--a.cole
-------------Diarra/Rossi----------
---becks--------------------robinho
---------------raul----------------
---------Torres------soldado-------

baptista... instead of raul maybe

just imagine, a.cole and robinho on the left.....
and a good CDM.... this team;s got a lot of potential....
:jambo:
Madrid's fate ...(for the next 4 yrs... probably)
will be gambled in the next elections

and im hearin very different opinions from all candidates
which only hurts the club....

I kinda agree with this formation I just would prefer if the team could buy Robben to play on the left wing then the squad could be something like this

Im not sure about Carvalho I think that Mejia should get his place on the 1st team :ewan:

-Cicinho--Ramos----Carvalho--a.cole
---------------Diarra--------------
---Beckham--------------------Robben
---------------Baptista----------------

i found this funny....

"Raul arrived at traning camp wearing yellow, which Luis Aragones deems unlucky. The paper claimed such is Aragones' aversion to the colour that he even once asked for dribbling exercise cones to be replaced as they were the offending colour. Instead, he asked for red ones. "
"On seeing Raul arrive, according to El Pais, Aragones barked: "Raul, take it off, take it off!" Fortunately for Aragones, Spain traditionally do not play in the red and yellow of their national flag but red and blue. "

Espanyol, Betis move for Real Madrid's Diogo

Butragueno's Miami trip frustrates Real Madrid players
Butragueno flew to the United States yesterday and will unveil a Real Madrid camp today with Miami Mayor, Manny Diaz. Over 600 local children will attend the soccer school between the 10th and 28th of July. However, with Butragueno absent, transfer negotiations have ground to a halt, while players such as Ivan Helguera, Roberto Carlos, Thomas Gravesen and Antonio Cassano are also frustrated as they seek clarification over their Real futures.

Eidur Gudjohnsen is considering offers from other clubs as he looks set to leave Stamford Bridge
what do u guys think about him? He plays hard, and is versitile as to where he can play on the pitch.

I think Joe Cole would be a great addition but for which position i can't decide...

Diarra keeps Man Utd waiting as he hopes for Real Madrid
AS says Diarra has already told United boss Sir Alex Ferguson he wants to play for Real Madrid, despite agreeing personal terms with the Premiership giants and seeing Lyon accept United's £20 million offer. If none of the candidates show serious interest in the African, only then will the midfielder put his signature on a Manchester United contract.

Schuster urges Raul to quit Real Madrid
Getafe coach Bernd Schuster has told Raul to quit Real Madrid for the sake of his career. The former Real Madrid and Barcelona star told AS: "Yes, I think he's now just killing time there. I believe that, yes he must move, but it is a decision for him." "I would advise him that he changed clubs."

Figo urges Inter Milan to move for Real Madrid's Guti
Luis Figo has recommended former Real Madrid teammate Guti to Inter Milan patron Massimo Moratti. With both David Pizarro and Alvaro Recoba set to move on, Figo has told Moratti that Guti can fill the breach as Inter go searching for a new attacking midfielder this summer.

Oh.. and on the subject of possible line-ups, i dream of one day having Jaoquin and C.Ronaldo on the wings, with Torres up front aswell.

...one day...

hey 200! go me!
