Cadena Ser is reporting that Wenger has agreed a deal with Villar Mir. 4 year deal worth 5 million euros a year and according to the report Arsenal are aware of this. I can only hope this is true and if it is than imo VM/Saniz will be favorites now.

Wow. That's big news. Nothing really matters until July 2nd, but Villar Mir may have an ace in his hand with Wenger.

Mmm don't know what to think. Wenger is very indentified with his current project in Arsenal, it'll be weird if he decided a club change now that Arsenal is reaching a high level again.

I know what to think, its ******* awsome. He fits their plan perfectly, a coach who is also the sports director so Wenger would do all the work, he likes to give youngsters a chance to shine, they want the manager to be a long term coach with a long term plan, and with our budget it should be interesting to see what he does with it.

I'd say it's a lie, but De la Morena only makes these announcements when there is a reliable(official) source, and most of the times it's true.

Question for everyone. What candidate do you think will win and why?

I haven't been paying attention to the election due to the World Cup, but I think this Villar Mir has a good chance if he keeps his word about Wenger. Heck the guy's been a socio since the 40's!

You got me wrong, I also find him the best coach Madrid can have at the moment; but I see the movement very unlikely.

As for the best candidate thing... I'm a little doubtful now, the Wenger thing has changed my mind. If true I would go with Villar-Mir. Until this moment Calderon or Palacios were my men.

Edit: I have also read that if Villar Mir is elected, his first operation will be to bring Cesc Fabregas !

Dont really know who would have been the favorite but I wanted VM before this whole Wenger thing...now I want it to happen even more. Before this I think that Calderon was favorite to win it, he was being supported by AS and he does have some good points in his plan although I dont agree to some of want he wanted, like Capello, Ibrahimovic, and Kaka. Another favorite would have been Palacios but I did not want him either. I wanted VM-Saniz from the start because I liked thier whole plan about having the coach be the sports director, they want a coach that will be here for a while that has a long term plan for the club, and I like other things that has been said by them. Some people dont want them because of the rumor that VM would spend 150M Euos for Messi ( which was not true btw, he said he wont sign anymore, the coach that they choose will do all the singings ) and I dont think everyone would like a coach that is also the sports director.

somehow, I would be extremely skeptical. Wenger...
1. Has just gotten to the CL final
2. Has just seen Henry extend for life
3. Is moving to a brand new stadium

The only reasons I could see him moving for are either to get away from Chelsea or because he thinks Arsenal might buckle financially (obviously, both are extremely remote possibilities)



But if thats actually true....then wow is all I can say. Wenger with alot of money and Real Madrid's squad is scary. And it will be one of the most intresting summers in football histroy

I think Wenger have a lot of money, he is 57 years old, and last 10 years of his life he stayed in Arsenal. I think he just need to live a new experience, and right now is the best moment to join Real Madrid cause we have some money (yet) and Madrid need to be re-builded with new players, new style and new illusions.

Wenger doesnt like spending big, he also likes being in control of nearly all of the team affairs, hes never going to go to Real Madrid to be the new presidents puppet.
