good win, Cadiz dominated the match until the 1-1, but Robinho came in and i can swear i could smell the fear of Cadiz's defenders. He gave Helguera a great assistance, but Ivan shot the post .

it's sad to see Owen in his way out i really hope we don't sell him, and if we do, we must buy a CB or an attacking midfielder, i don't know what we need more urgently right now.

Reminder to everyone. This was the first game of the season. Alot of teams looked like crap in their first game. It's a common thing. At least we scored 2 and won it. That's what matters.

As for Robinho... This kid jumped in their liked he'd been playing with Real for years. Plus he help create a goal in his first match. I think we're going to be very happy this year.

we won't play in Copa del Rey until January (read La Liga thread).

Robinho will start for sure against Lyon (btw, they won 2-0 today), because Ronaldo is suspended (another reason to not sell Owen )

Second Round (the "first" round was already played)

All the Second Division teams (20 teams, Castilla and Malaga B can't play the tournament) go to a draw, and will play a single match on August 31st.

The 10 winners will go through another draw, along the 18 winners of the first round (Alcalá, Rayo Vallecano, Las Palmas, Tenisca, Burgos, Oviedo, Portugalete, Lemona, Villajoyosa, Alcoyano, Logroñés, Alicante, L'Hospitalet, Almansa, Mérida, Ceuta, Baza and Aguilas); Córdoba, Terrassa, Salamanca and Pontevedra (relegated to 2nd Division ; Real Union and Zamora. Rules of the draw: teams of Second Division can't play each other, and the lower division team of each match-up will host the game.

The winners (17) go through the third round.

Third Round

The 17 winners of the second round, plus Athletic Club, Málaga, Atlético de Madrid, Zaragoza, Getafe, Real Sociedad, Real Racing, Mallorca, Cádiz, Celta and Deportivo Alavés, will go to another draw, and will play a single match on October 20th. Rules: teams of Primera can't play each other, and the lower division team of each match-up will host the game.

Fourth Round

Winners of 3rd round go to ANOTHER (!!!) draw. Rules: the lower division team of each match-up will host the game (single match on October 26th).

1/16 Round

Winners of 4th round, plus Barcelona, Real Madrid, Betis, Villarreal, Espanyol, Sevilla, Valencia, Deportivo de la Coruña and Osasuna (teams playing UCL/UEFA Cup/Intertoto), go to another (!!!!) draw. 1st leg: January 4th. 2nd leg: January 11th. Rules: The 'new' 9 teams can't face each other and the "weaker" team will host the 1st leg match.

Quarterfinals

1st leg: January 18th
2nd leg: January 26th

Semifinals

1st leg: February 1st
2nd leg: February 8th

Final

Single match, on April 12th.

Ok, here is my analysis of the match.

You all are bashing Raul, cause he didnt even appear in the whole match. But the problem was not him, but our midfield, that is slow as hell and sometimes a complete chaos. IMO there were worse players than Raul as ZIDANE (how many balls did he lose? More than Raul, thats for sure) and BAPTISTA (still hasnt adapted to his new position;it was like we were playing with 10 players). So its normal Raul doesnt appear if he doesnt recieve decent passes, only long balls.

When Robinho came in, the midfield turned into this:

The game got better cause Zidane is already used to play at the left, and cause Robinho is just AWESOME.

I think Robinho must become a starter inmediately, and take Zidane spot in the XI, just behind Raul and Ronaldo. Doing this, we only need to pray for Baptista quick adaptation to the left, and thats all
