I really enjoyed my GolTV Serie A coverage 2day. I caught Inter's game live and I also saw Milan vs. Lazio. 2 great, competitive games. Its a real shame that Mancini didn't start Martins, maybe if he did the side could have won.

An abysmal 2nd half but the side clawed back in the 2nd. An average result, definately not good enough in my books.

i guess your right, but im a lot more excited for Inter-Roma.

That should be a big one. Though not as big as the Derby D'Italia or the Milanese Derby.

I also like the encounter between Juve and Milan as well (H)

i think its unfair to say Crespo failed. He was always injured, and for the games he played (VERY few) he had a good scoring record.

Look at Mutu now, he never plays so you cant call him a failure. Hes gotta get outta that league as fast as he can.

I like Mutu, but i have to disagree. He played a lot of games last season, and seriously, my granny would hit the target better than him. He missed too much chances, that's why he isnt playing anymore.

If he had done a good job, he would be starting. Christ, he missed so many chances, that even Gudjohnsen (that i consider to be an average player) took his place.

He'll be a great player one day. He just has to go to Serie A or Spain.

After the season he had with Parma, theres no denying his talent.

Starting XI
parma are such good producers of talent
if they held on to their players, they'd be an awesome side
mutu, adriano, gilardino, cannavaro, thuram, buffon, di viao, zola, veron, crespo and im sure there is heaps more

Serie A teams of the week...

1st Week

4-4-2

Goalkeeper:

Anania – A great Serie A deubt.

Defenders:

Cufrè – From huge doubt to a gigantic and pleasant surprise.
Cannavaro – A good Juventus debut for the Azzurro skipper.
Mexes –Luckily for Roma his suspension was revoked…
Barzagli – Much better than during the Olympics…

Midfielders:

Esposito – Midfielder, Forward, soon on the national team.
Baronio – Could this be the year he finally breaks through?
Seedorf – Pure class
Di Canio – A natural leader

Forwards:

Lucarelli – When the soul takes center stage.
Toni – A goal for the entire city of Palermo.

Coach:

Capello – Juve have a solid defense again.

2nd Week

Tactical formation: 3-4-3

Goalkeeper

Pagliuca: Kept Bologna in the match until Sheva’s penalty.

Defenders

Parisi: The Roberto Carlos of Sicily
Cafu: In Top Form
Dainelli: A goal in Fiorentina’s first win of the season

Midfielders

Zauli: Transformed himself into Maradona to assist Toni for Palermo’s draw.
Jankulovski: The new Czech fury.
Semioli: His goal sealed the win off for Chievo at Livorno.
Giampà: A goal and a lot more in a historic day for Messina.

Forwards

Montella: The Aeroplane is flying always higher.
Adriano: Simply unstoppable.
Bojinov: 18 years of age and a huge future in-front of him

3rd Week

Tactial formation: 3-4-3

Goalkeepers

Lupatelli: A wall that proved insurmountable for Palermo.

Defenders

Conte: Sheva and Inzaghi did little last night.

Couto: He stayed at Lazio, believed in the project, and is now an example the whole team should follow.

F. Cannavaro: If Juve don’t’ let in any goals, its also because of Canna. Inter are already wondering why they sold him.

Midfielders

Esposito: Missed a penalty, but netted its rebound. Always closer to La Nazionale.

Albertini: Atalanta’s best player against Inter.

Semioli: Another great game. He is in top form.

Locatelli: Came alive in a crucial game for Bologna.

Forwards

Zampagna: Another great goal, after the one that downed AS Roma.

Adriano: No words are left to describe the greatness of this player.

Suazo: Looking always more like the next Weah.

4th Week

Tactical Formation: 4-4-2

Goalkeeper

Storari- Messina’s fresh hero of the weekend.

Defenders

Conte-The Samp defender was almost perfect against Fiorentina.

Couto- A goal and a nice defensive performance for the Portughese lion against Milan.

Zaccardo- His goal handed Palermo a precious point against Juve.

Petruzzi- Monumental. Totti and Cassano did almost nothing at Bologna.

Midfielders

Meghni- He is called the ‘next Zidane’ and against Roma he did look like the great Zizou, sometimes...

Morfeo- A true underachiever, but when he is in one of his ‘on days’, he transforms into a poet of the game.

Volpi- Novellino can’t do without him.

Cassetti- His second goal in two weeks, for a second spot in the standings.

Forwards

Shevchenko- Two goals in two minutes. The Olimpico is his home.

Martins- Vieri’s days as Inter’s starting striker are over.

Coach

Zdeneck Zeman- The Puglia region brings him good luck, after the great Foggia, here comes Master Zeman’s fantastic Lecce.

haha

Olimpico is Sheva's home? If Milan didnt play in San Siro, San Siro would have still been his home though ;)

i liked it when goal.com (soccerage) used to have 'Worst Eleven Of the Week'.

(by the way, 90% of the defenders chosen were only selected because they scored(:/) )

Worst Players So Far:

Heres How Id have described them:

Vieri

'If his play was half as bad as his hair cut, hed have scored a hat-trick each game'

'At this rate, wishing for him to play as he did at European Championships is a stretch'

Cordoba

'Take away his speed and he as much defensive ability as Sinisa Mihaljovic'

Taibi (against Inter)

'Even Tim Howard would roll his eyes at Adrianos winner'

Inter/Roma Defence This Season

'With there play so far, even the likes of Jorge Costa would be an improvement'
