Yeah, he's never been as good as people think. The ball was in the air when Busquets went down BTW.

Puyol brought Busquets down, I thought the issue was the shirt pulling? Which if was an issue to the referee he should have done something about it before he let play resume... 99% of the time you stop the game talk to the players involved and retake the corner

Anyways, Milan losing on penalties is pretty ironic so :clapwap:

I thought Nesta pulled Busquets and Puyol retaliated by clearing out Nesta, which ended up flooring both of them (Nesta and Busi).

Yes, and we'll manage to do it with all four CBs injured...

Defence line of Javi Garcia--Emerson--Capdevila FTW (H)

:(

Oh and tits.
Referees are too good/efficient at the Camp Nou...specially when you are not wearing Barcelona shirts....but yeah in the previous game there should have been a penalty I guess...

Nice to see Pato play after such a long for a very short time but that is the case all the f*cking time....

and again tomorrow the only team with no portugueses on the line-up?

:bob:

On another note... hum... we have so many injured players... better start buying those brazilians.

Oh and tits.
I did mention Milan got decisions at the San Siro but this one was harsh considering such stuff don't get called 99% of the time... don't you think? The ref could have talked to Nesta and book him for it maybe but awarding a penalty along with a yellow without any warning for something that is allowed week in week out is really harsh.

Going a bit off topic here but to respond to you Coruja, I understand your concerns about the lack of opportunities Portuguese players have been having, but at least Nélson Oliveira managed to prove himself with the minutes he got and will surely be in the Euro.

While I get where you're coming from, note that we have 5 Brazilian players in the squad and only Artur and Luisão are uncontested starters. Porto for instance, have 8. Sporting have 6 and Braga have 12.

Most of our South American players, which I take it is what you're referring to, are quality players with Emerson being the blatant exception. And Jardel too (which we bought internally [from Olhanense]). Artur, Luisão, Aimar, Garay, Gaitán, Maxi, Cardozo and even Bruno César are very good players and certainly not randomly picked. Javi Garcia, Rodrigo, Nolito and Witsel are so too and have great potential. At least three of them will have a brilliant future football wise. And these aren't Brazilian, they're Spanish and Belgian respectively, and I think discriminating them and ignoring their talent based on nationality wouldn't be smart.

I don't mind having the majority of these players if they're quality. What I do mind is regularly bet on a crap player like Emerson or even buying Jardel when we have Miguel Vitor and Luis Martins from our academy, capable of evolving and grabbing the spots if given the chance.

Regarding the injuries, and if we consider they all refer to the CB position it immediately reminds me of Man Utd in that department, bad luck I guess. Add the fact that JJ didn't rotate the squad as much as he should have during the season, which not only increases the chance of injuries but it also prevents players like David Simão, Roderick, etc. from getting the deserved playing time, but since JJ won't do it anyway, it'd be even worse to have them in the squad rotting on the bench or in the stands..

I didn't watch any of the games but I get home and to no surprise whatsoever I see that Busquets has apparently done it again. Class is permanent.

Two undeniably correct penalties and somehow the haters still think this win is marred. Marca conceded their homepage to barcelona's 5th consecutive semifinal just so they could put all kinds of qualifiers around it.

There's no doubt it was a penalty in my mind. It was a clear foul, the only argument being that it happens all the time without being called so why now? Only one logical explanation:

UNICEF CONSPIRACIES!!!

But seriously, I get so annoyed when I see shirt pulling in the box during corners. I played as a CB at a very high level (Serie G, Vaughan open-age men's league what up) and in all honesty, it's not that difficult to mark a player closely without resorting to that ****. It was a penalty, but to reward it during the QFs of a 1-1 game in what promised to be an enthralling tie? Harsh.

Pfft, big deal, we've had our own trophy since 1976.

I didn't say the Barça shouldn't have won. I also love this "haters gonna hate" thing. It's like we can't criticize anything just because you don't agree. That makes you haters too, no?
