Yeah you get used to the fact that you have no facial hair and it's more fresh, but when it grows back suddenly, the contrast makes you feel that you have more actually, but by time if you let it grow, your will get comfortable with it and everything's the same suddenly.

Hisashi - I haven't read all of this thread, but my advice is this:

Don't be afraid to follow your heart. Try new things - You like basketball and football? Try out for your school teams. You like to sing? Try out for the choir. You suck at singing? Try out anyway - you might make a friend that you wouldn't have otherwise. Don't buy on impulse - put the money somewhere safe and think about what you would have spent the money on. More often than not, you didn't need what you thought you did and that money will come in useful one day. Don't worry so much and use sunscreen if you are outdoors a lot. Be happy. :keegan:

And what about premarital sex? Is that a sin? If two people love each other and live together and have children, raise them in a loving household and turn out well-rounded citizens of the world, are they sinners? I was never married in a church, but I have lived with my wife for more than 12 years. We have two children and both of them are much loved and well treated. Am I a sinner? Am I going to your imaginary hell?

What if it's two men, or two women, who love each other very much and give all their love to their children as well? Raise them in a stable household with all the benefits of two incomes for a good life. Is that a sin? More of a sin than an abusive father who beats his children, insults them and beats his wife? Keeps his family living in fear, but he goes to church every Sunday to pray to God? Which is the sinner?

God recognizes only two classifications of killing: accidental and intentional. "Self-defense" is not even listed. God illustrates "accidental death" as occurring when there is no intent to kill or to harm. But when there is intent to kill , God's law defines it as murder regardless of what the other person was threatening to do, about to do, or is doing. If a man fires a gun with the knowledge that it has the potential to kill another man, it is murder and is a sin.

That's all fine and dandy except you're following writings of something that is thousands of years old, which by today's standards is no longer applicable in many ways. I feel sorry for the people that get brainwashed by trying to follow the bible to the letter because it goes against what human instinct in many ways.

I know this because I was one of those sheltered kids that thought sex before marriage was wrong and that it was a mortal sin. I thought it was wrong of me to have these desires and feelings as a young teen, and I basically lived in shame until I realized it was all a crock of shit. I don't have to listen to some old, outdated writings that are possibly completely taken out of context because I was brought up to that. Thankfully I live in a place where there's freedom of religion or freedom to not worship anything if I so choose to. Otherwise I'd be pretty fucked.

But God says it's ok to kill intentionally. In fact, if you don't do it, wouldn't you be disobeying God?

So, which is it, Hisashi? Do we follow the Bible, or only those parts of the Bible that we choose? But isn't the whole Bible the unadulterated word of God? I mean, I'd think that, much like fornication, you either follow the word of God, as written down in that book, or you don't. But if you pick and choose, how can you truly know you are doing what God wants you to do, rather than what you want to do yourself?
