You only need an absolute minimum of 9 stadiums. But upto 12 is suggested...
With capacities of over 40,000.
In Australia, we have two great stadiums in each of the three eastern capitals, so that is six. We just need a couple in Adelaide, a couple in Perth, and maybe one on the coast of NSW outside of Sydney...(Newcastle? Gosford?)
As it is we have (sponsors names taken away):
Stadium Australia ~85 000
Sydney Football Stadium ~45 000
Docklands Stadium ~55 000
MCG ~100 000
Lang Park ~55000
Quenesland Sport and Athletic Centre ~50000
I think that if we got the Cup, that there would be a purpose built stadium built somewhere too...possibly Melbourne, as whilst the MCG is big, it's suitability for Football could be questioned...I think that as it is a World Cup, and would be sold out for all games, I'm sure that Stadium Australia would probably be where the final would be held. It leaves people much closer to the action (compared to the MCG), since the big end stands were moved for the games, and the side stands were moved in closer, and holds many more than the other two possibilities: Lang Park, or Docklands..
