Time to apogize to Malcolm Glazer

damn Shifty*ry Fergie is in charge for 20 years now of course he'll have times when ManU are the third best.. teams have on and off times and malcolm just got into stage when ManU are rising, alongside with Chelski's fall..

But it was my understanding that Glazer = off times, ManU falling.

Of course guys, the owner means nothing to a team's success. I cannot see him out on the pitch, therefore he is meaningless. A lot of stuff goes on behind the scenes.

The vast majority of fans still dont like Glazers and wont be apologizing anytime soon. Whats refreshing to hear is their are potential buyers of United even though the Glazers say its not for sale. Hopefully a billionaire will come and pay them off so they can get lost. Hes increased ticket pricing and given us huge debt. Pay it off. Mate we aint paying his ridiculous loan back for 20 years plus. Its hundreds of millions.

Nothing to apologize for and all United fans should never apologize for squat.

Would you be interested in being your nation's Prime Minister? You and George Bush would get along really well.

Great thread. However, there is more of a chance that Wenger would see a match incident than Manchester United fans admitting they were wrong.

How can Manchester United fans even deny that they weren't totally against the takeover on grounds that all the players would get sold off? Now, you idiots are grasping to the debt situation as a crutch when you know nothing about the finances OR how to run a successful business.

America: we're just better than you.

Aw, poor Manchester United fans :(

Don't worry, I'm sure another billionaire will keep ticket prices low, and willingly devastate his own personal fortune with reckless spending on a football team. Ain't happening guys, your tickets are going up no matter who owns the team. And lots of teams change uniforms every year, Bayern do and no one complains. In the end it's the stupid fans who are creating the demand for new uniforms every year by buying the damn things.

The huge debt doesn't mean anything. The only way it comes back to bite you in the ass is if you ALREADY start to go down. If you start to have a prolonged period of craptastic seasons, then the debt could compound to send you down with Leeds. Honestly, with the financial shape of the club, that will never happen. You're paying off the interest on the debt with the same money that would be going to pay off the shareholder dividends anyway. PLC's can't spend crazily because they can't bankrupt their shareholders anyway, so I honestly don't know what the alternative is here.

Oh, yeah I do... you guys want an Abromovic of your own. All the hostility is over the fact that your foreign owner isn't a sugar daddy. What a prick, trying to make smart signings and build through the youth system.

What a stupid thread, and one from a typical American on the outside looking in. " OH look! United won the title again!!! And GLAZER is the owner! That must mean GLAZER is responsible for the title!"

I didn't expect such idiocy from an experienced dude like you. Glazer didn't turn **** around. A man who has been at this club for 21 some odd years through many ups and downs, and who had a plan from the beginning, DID.

United won title *despite* Glazer, not *because* of Glazer

Gutted the youth and reserve teams...

Farmed out all the youngsters on loan deals so we wouldn't have to pay their full wages...

Cut out backroom staff...

Ticket price hikes....

Had to sell Ruud and other players to afford Michael Carrick...

The debt is still out there and getting larger, not smaller....

Oh yes, thank you Mr. Glazer.

How dare he send your best youngsters out on loan to play! They should be on the bench playing Reserve Games!!!

Cut out backroom staff...

Uh huh.

Ticket price hikes....

Are you buying the tickets?

Had to sell Ruud and other players to afford Michael Carrick...

Good move if you ask me.

The debt is still out there and getting larger, not smaller....

uh huh.

Oh yes, thank you Mr. Glazer.

You should be thanking him.

I hate the end of the season because it means people get promoted from the BigSoccer division again.

The least all you glory hunters could do was thank the man! It's obvious Manchester United fans aren't exactly the smartest.

FACT: In spite of all these problems you see him creating, you won the title this year after a long drought when you were clearly the 3rd best club in England. Since he took over you are arguably the best. Better domestically than Liverpool and probably the equal of Chelsea at home and abroad. You weren't sniffing the title before May 2005.

FACT: Since 2005 you have bought van der Saar, Vidic, Evra, Park, and Carrick. All extremely important to your title. He has not dismantled the club, like most of you shouted from rooftops that he would do, and he has not alienated fans. If anything this season has brought you all together.

He was absolutely vital to the success, and your turn around does not happen without him no matter what you want to claim. You are so mad that you haven't bought more players, but for what!? You won the league, outperformed all but two teams in the CL and still have a shot to win the FA Cup. Even with more depth, you could have screwed up the chemistry and failed. Honestly what more do you want?

Plus, your club is very clearly on the rise right now. You aren't going to go down, you're going to get better. The team is young and extremely solid. And by the way you did make an enormous bid for Owen Hargreaves that will likely be accepted this summer, which really destroys your argument that he isn't willing to splurge on transfers. Perhaps he is just willing to splurge on wise transfers and not on bench players?

He has done EVERYTHING right and nothing wrong. Unless you want to complain about arguably your second best season ever, I think you guys should just eat the crow and apologize to the man. He has done everything a good owner could do.

Hehehe...very cleverly put......no wonder you're becoming a lawyer. Hinsdisght is 20-20.....

When he took over the club, Liverpool had won the Champions League, Arsenal had won the FA Cup and Chelsea had won the league by strides ahead of Arsenal with United in a distant third....the club WAS the fourth best club in England that year!! So, there's no way even a Glazer supporter could have seen this coming so a future apology would have been the LAST thing on the minds of ManU fans. Infact, I don't think even you could have seen this coming...so.......damn.....soon!!!!

Saddling a club with millions in debt....short-term returns don't necessarily mean all is well....his hedge fund managers need to be extremely competent to keep him satisfied with the level of debt that the club has undertaken. I think it will be better to wait a bit longer and see where the club is, before a definitive statement about his management policy can be made. No club's supporters (well educated, like Shareholders United) would be willing to take on that much of debt...no matter what the outlook is.

And you say they signed A, B, C, etc.....well what about the ones that got away...Robben (Park is NOT going to take over for Giggs), Mikel, Ballack (now they've got to get the guy from your club in Germany) and oh yes, oh yes....Michael Essien. A choice of two guys, Ballack and Essien, to take over for Roy Keane and BOTH slipped through their fingers due to......well, INSUFFICIENT funds clearly. If they had enough to match Chelsea's offers, they MIGHT have had them. It's not all been roses in the transfer market you know.....
