I was a little disapointed in the fact that in the season I played so far Nacional (Uru) have played only 2 games, one agains Cerro Porteno (1-3) and one that I have no idea to who. I got a little pissed and downloaded the editor and made the Uruguayan league, but when I started a new game I looked at Fixtures and coming matches and nothing. I also beterd the Uruguayans, their ranking is way to low.

PS. Hey Anyone know what happens to Recoba, Fonseca, Dely Valdez, Ruben Sosa and Poyet in the Future?

Before the game go on holiday and come back as soon as the match got simulated. if you play with AC Milano, you should win with that tactic.

Well I won my second Italian Cup with Parma, and was well into my fifth season before I noticed that my Newcastle were in the relegation zone.

After some concerned monitoring of the situation I could take it no more and got the position of Toon Army Manager after they fired my idiot predecessor.

He left me with an OLD crappy team that was useless! BUT, I managed to squirm my way into bagging Andri 'Sniper' Sigporroson so I am set! Just a few young defenders away from decency.

So far I am 3 - 0 - 0 as manager. Perfect start!

I have been playing as S****horpe in CM 99/00 and after 5 years I have won everything, Div 2, Div 1, Premiership, both cups, Windscreen Shield, Supercup, World club cup, world club championship, Championsleague, runner up in the UEFA cup. I have been playing:

most of the time, I was playing with my left striker marking the goalkeeper, but in the last season, more teams have started playing the offside trap against me so i have had to modify. It looks like an odd formation, but both the support man and anchor man are essential, I can't win without them.

I have done the same at Leeds.

Admitedly I did cheat a bit as S****horpe, I created 4 players:-

me - a crap AM/F LC with world class potential
a mate - a crap striker with some potential
Don Revie - a GK/SW/D/DM/M/AM/F RLC (I had to do it)
and a goalkeeper.

These players were meant to be crap (except me) but they turned out to be really good. I also gave myself 4M to spend and spent it on:

Etherington, Davies, kenna, Jellyman, Cable (Peterbrough); Dillon (Rotherham); Gudnasson (Liverpool); Risso (free transfer); Lange (Tromso). I was already blessed with some very good players at s****horpe. Logan, Hope, Walker, Harsley and Graves. All but graves were in my team last season. I have since sold the ageing Hope and Logan for a combined 11M

Not bad I think. I know I have cheated, but I have done the same before with Leeds and S****horpe in CM3 and as Leeds in CM 99/00.

This damn silly forum can't take Scu.nthorpe because of the s C U N T horpe in it. I almost forgot the point of my long post. I have won all that, 5 leagues, 15 cups, 36 manager awards, p328/w276, and a european champioship with wales (Hartson scores loads if he marks the goalkeeper). Why am I not top of the manager charts, I am 8th in England!!!!!!!

Phil, are u playing CM3 or CM99/00? If you're playing CM3 there's a bug to do with your manager rating - u need to use an editor and change your manager potential to 200 (max) that way you get the rating you deserve. If you're playing CM99/00 - I don't know...

My brother played his first season with Porto and won the league directly. But to come to the Champions League he has got to go thru 2 qualifying rounds!

It might've been over a year ago but I can remember looking at this topic. I can remember almost exactly what it said, quite amazing really.

This was really the first time when RR started bragging about his skills. Next it was 'armless 70 year old Siberians' hehe

I opened the CM 00/01 demo today and thought I'd continue my Hartlepool game which I hadn't played for months.

Currently doing quite well (knock on wood) 10 points from 4 league games and I'm through to the 2nd round of the Worthington Cup, where I'll be facing Charlton.

I signed around 15 free players and added a few more for very little. While most shine in the reserves, a handful are first team regulars.

I have around 40,000 pounds but I don't know what to spend it on. My goalie is Rachubka, my defence is very solid, my defensive midfielder is quite good, as are my central midfielders, attacking midfielders and striker.

I did secure a brilliant loan deal: David Dunn from Blackburn and I'm only paying 30% of his wages. Let's see if he can hold off Luca Aluno Corbucci and Tommy Miller.

HEY, Siberians RULE!!!. byt the way, since I am from Far East of Russia, I always play with Siberian/Far Eastern clubs in the Russian League in CM. Next time what I want to do is to create a club in non-league section from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, from Kamchatka peninsula (take out an atlas and find it), which in reality existed, however doesn't exist now, and wait for this club to promote so that I can take over it.. Would be fun for Manchester United to fly 9 hours to play a game I already had taken Luch Vladivostok to the heights and played a lot with European grand clubs, and, it takes longer to fly to Vladivostok than to Kamchatka peninsula!


I can find a few of my lamer posts in this thread.. This was when I just started playing.. Now, I don't use the "go on holiday" option, unless it is some very unworthy match (worthington cupin England, Russian cup in Russia).. I got pretty good at this game Yet not very good; there are a few Russian CM experts I know who are so deep in the game, they can create a kind of tactics that will guarantee you a win.. Wanna to become as good as they are

can't wait for the next CM to come out. and, maybe, who knows, the FIFA game will also be worthy to buy; EA makes a great game every 4 years, it seems

I only have the CM 00/01 demo but I think I've found the perfect tactic with Hartlepool.

A 4-1-2-2-1 is working great at Hartlepool for me. I have something like 9 wins and 2 draws (league and cup)

I just purchased 15 random players and my scouts found 4 players- 3 for free and one dirt cheap that all play in the first team.

The perfect tactic is 3-4-1-2. If you get a good player working behind the strikers it works wonders. I took Cheltenham Town from 21st in Division 3 (when I was appointed) to Premiership and European champions 9 years later with that tactic.
