does your russian league work in career mode?

No it crashes also at the same point my Serie C leagues crash...

The crash has nothing to do with my Russian Teams, I started over from scratch with a backup of my fifa.db and dut.db prior to modifications, I just added one tournament, the Serie C1/A, consisting of 19 teams, I created this league :

Note that I linked the tournament to Region 3 (see lower left corner of window, blue text), I synchronized my league with the GUI function, I didn't add my Russian teams and the Serie C1/B this time, just this one league...

Same result, when I pick a Serie C team to play in career, it crashes to desktop every time I click start next season button, I'm desperate at this point.

maybe we have to look somewhere else.
The facts are:
1) TM should work fine also in Career mode, beta testers from a similar forum on an Italian site, Donovan and also myself verified this.
2) A typical reason of crashing are the "lost-link" like those generated by the Creation Center but your DB files appear modified correctly.
3) The DB integrity is preserved because you are able to convert it with UniDB.
4) Another known cause of crash could be the presence of some career or team files previously saved under the Documents/FIFA 2005, but you have removed them and it still crashes.
5) You get the crash playing a new league with a new team.
6) You are able to play an existing league with an existing team and to buy players from the new teams.

I would like to know also:
A) Do you get the crash if you play a new league with existing teams ?
Do you get the crash if you play an existing league with a new team ?
C) If you make a new league mixing existing and new teams, which of them crashes ?

Hipothesys:
There should be something else in your FIFA environment, but not in the DB files, that interacts with them and causes the crash.
1) Regenerating fat and bh files could be a first step (but maybe you have already done)
2) If you use a Career.ini file (or something else) to customize the Career mode you could try to remove it.
3) Try to start with a clean FIFA installation (if you can) is the "extrema ratio" attempt.

yes that is true, i saw it now... but how to prevent, that they will play in 2 competitions???

The simplest way is to replace Juventus in the serie A with another team (in this way you will not play Champion's League or UEFA cup too because they get the teams from Seire A).
More complex editing is of course possible but you have to keep in mind that in career mode ALL the tournaments are considered in order to define the calendar of a season.

i have made a little competition with the 4 greece teams. I put them in a new competition, and then i put hem in region 5

then i started the competition, and i saw that he loaded the fixtures. And the i can choose only options and to next season.

Then i clicked to next season, and het crashed to windows

That is exactly the same error as I am experiencing, note that Franky and myself both use the DUTCH version of Fifa 2005... coincidence?

Rinaldo, I will test what you pointed out in your previous post, I am for example using a custom career.ini that got installed with the AC12 gameplay patch that I further tweaked to my likings, I will get rid of it and try again, then I will try to create mixed leagues to see what gives, I will post tonight what I experienced.

Also, to rule the custom team cause out completely I started over again and imported my Russian League only, same error, same crash, so you are right it must be something else...

What I did see however is that when I use TM the first time on a "clean" backup of my db's is that the names of my custom leagues appear under the normal leagues in the GUI menu list where you can synchronize even before I created a single new tournament.

Once I created a new tournament, the name of the League gets replaced by the name of the tournament in that same list, is this normal ? If you want, I will post screenshots if you don't understand what I mean.

that is not true, i have the English version of FIFA, becouse my dutch cd's are broken... but maybe i have a dutch computer??

but i discovered something else, every fifa, has also a dut.db file.... if i open it, dut.db, he gives a error.... but with eng, fra, ger, spa.db files he doesn't gives that error..

If you have the english version fifa uses the eng.db anyway but it might be worth a try to restore the dut.db from your original fifa to see what gives.

that is possible, but i use eng.db... couse dut.db only gives errors....

The same happens to me with the Italian Version. This is a good news because now I have something that I can reproduce and I can work on it.

Rinaldo, I might have discovered something very important here!

Out of my 16 Russian Teams, only 12 appear in the career selection menu!!!!!!!

I discovered it when I first played Lokomotiv Moskou in tournament mode with no problem and then wanted to test that team in career mode, it didn't appear in the menu.

I was like "WTF?" and then I counted the Russian teams, and bingo, instead of 16 there were only 12 there!
Is there a limit to the number of teams by region?

It's normal that it crashes this way, when it tries to load the league in career mode, it doesn't find all the teams and then it says "Gotcha!" and crashes back to desktop!!! (well in fact it doesn't say anything but even Windows gives a nice blue screen when it crashes, Fifa does not, damn EA!)

What do you make out of this????

EDIT : I restored my original career.ini from the fifa2005 CD, the four missing teams are the four strongest teams of the league iow they have more than 3 stars, isn't the original career.ini preventing to choose those?

And re-installing the complete Fifa 2005 is no option I'm affraid, I have hundreds of custom graphics, 113 custom teams, all the transfers for every major europea, league updated till today in my fifa.db, you might as well ask me to jump out of the window :/

As Franky points out below, all custom created tournaments are behaving fine in Tournament Mode but crash in Career Mode only, we have to concentrate on all the files related to the career (inside fifa.db and lang.db and also career.ini and such) since imho custom graphics and teams are just fine, else they would crash in tournament mode also!

you usualy can chose only 12 clubs....

but ut is mabey very important, and i think i discovered something to, if i set up that league, then check also appears in tournament mode, and then starts with one of the club's it's not going to crashing... i can play in tournement mode , but not in Career mode..

And I mean it works with version 0.3 changing the values in the manager table
I am perfectly able to play any Russian Team in career mode now, I am going to add the Serie C again and then link them to the Coppa Nazionale ect ect lol

Version 0.4 includes the change to the Manager Table made automatically by the program. Very good work guys, yoiu are in my credits list.
I feel I am going to make it public this week end, the only missing feature is a wizard for creating new tournaments, I'll try to do something in the next 2 days.
